न कृष्टपच्यमश्नीयादकृष्टं चाप्यकालतः । अग्निपक्वमथामं वा अर्कपक्वमुताहरेत् ।। ७-१२-१८ ।।

sanskrit

A person in vānaprastha life should not eat grains grown by tilling of the fields. He should also not eat grains that have grown without tilling of the field but are not fully ripe. Nor should a vānaprastha eat grains cooked in fire. Indeed, he should eat only fruit ripened by the sunshine. ।। 7-12-18 ।।

english translation

वानप्रस्थ आश्रम में रहने वाले व्यक्ति को जुती हुई जमीन में उगा अन्न नहीं खाना चाहिए। उसे बिना जुती जमीन में उगे उन अन्नों को भी नहीं खाना चाहिए जो पूरी तरह पके न हों। न ही वानप्रस्थ को अग्नि में पका अन्न खाना चाहिए। निस्सन्देह, उसे सूर्य प्रकाश में पके फल ही खाने चाहिए। ।। ७-१२-१८ ।।
