अपि स्मरसि चात्मानमविज्ञातसखं सखे । हित्वा मां पदमन्विच्छन् भौमभोगरतो गतः ।। ४-२८-५३ ।।

sanskrit

The brāhmaṇa continued: My dear friend, even though you cannot immediately recognize Me, can’t you remember that in the past you had a very intimate friend? Unfortunately, you gave up My company and accepted a position as enjoyer of this material world. ।। 4-28-53 ।।

english translation

ब्राह्मण ने आगे कहा : हे मित्र, यद्यपि इस समय तुम मुझे तुरन्त नहीं पहचान सकते हो, किन्तु क्या तुम्हें स्मरण नहीं है कि भूतकाल में तुम मेरे अन्तरंग मित्र थे? दुर्भाग्यवश तुमने मेरा साथ छोड़ कर इस भौतिक जगत के भोक्ता का पद स्वीकार किया था। ।। ४-२८-५३ ।।
