ताननादृत्य योऽविद्वानर्थानारभते स्वयम् । तस्य व्यभिचरन्त्यर्था आरब्धाश्च पुनः पुनः ।। ४-१८-५ ।।

sanskrit

A foolish person who manufactures his own ways and means through mental speculation and does not recognize the authority of the sages who lay down unimpeachable directions is simply unsuccessful again and again in his attempts. ।। 4-18-5 ।।

english translation

ऐसा मूर्ख पुरुष जो कोई मनोकल्पना द्वारा अपने निजी साधन तथा माध्यम तैयार करता है और साधुओं द्वारा स्थापित दोषहीन आदेशों को मान्यता नहीं प्रदान करता, वह अपने प्रयासों में बार-बार असफल होता है। ।। ४-१८-५ ।।
