देहिनामात्मवत्प्रेष्ठः सुहृदां नन्दिवर्धनः । मुक्तसङ्गप्रसङ्गोऽयं दण्डपाणिरसाधुषु ।। ४-१६-१८ ।।

sanskrit

The King will consider all embodied living entities as dear as his own self, and he will always be increasing the pleasures of his friends. He will intimately associate with liberated persons, and he will be a chastising hand to all impious persons. ।। 4-16-18 ।।

english translation

यह राजा समस्त जीवधारी प्राणियों को अपने ही समान प्रिय मानेगा और अपने मित्रों के आनन्द को सदैव बढ़ाने वाला होगा। यह मुक्त पुरुषों से घनिष्ठ रूप से सम्बन्धित रहेगा और समस्त अपवित्र व्यक्तियों को कठोर दण्ड देने वाला होगा। ।। ४-१६-१८ ।।
