त्वक्चर्ममांसरुधिरमेदोमज्जास्थिधातवः । भूम्यप्तेजोमयाः सप्त प्राणो व्योमाम्बुवायुभिः ।। २-१०-३१ ।।

sanskrit

The seven elements of the body, namely the thin layer on the skin, the skin itself, the flesh, blood, fat, marrow and bone, are all made of earth, water and fire, whereas the life breath is produced by the sky, water and air. ।। 2-10-31 ।।

english translation

त्वचा, चर्म, मांस, रक्त, मेदा, मज्जा तथा अस्थि—शरीर के ये सात तत्त्व पृथ्वी, जल तथा अग्नि से बने हैं जबकि प्राण की उत्पत्ति आकाश, जल तथा वायु से हुई है। ।। २-१०-३१ ।।

गुणात्मकानीन्द्रियाणि भूतादिप्रभवा गुणाः । मनः सर्वविकारात्मा बुद्धिर्विज्ञानरूपिणी ।। २-१०-३२ ‌‌।।

sanskrit

The sense organs are attached to the modes of material nature, and the modes of material nature are products of the false ego. The mind is subjected to all kinds of material experiences (happiness and distress), and the intelligence is the feature of the mind’s deliberation. ।। 2-10-32 ‌‌।।

english translation

इन्द्रियाँ प्रकृत्ति के गुणों से जुड़ी होती हैं और भौतिक प्रकृति के ये गुण मिथ्या अहंकार से जनित हैं। मन पर समस्त प्रकार के भौतिक अनुभवों (सुख-दुख) का प्रभाव पड़ता है और बुद्धि मन के तर्क-वितर्क स्वरूप है। ।। २-१०-३२ ‌‌।।

Thus by all this, the external feature of the Personality of Godhead is covered by gross forms such as those of planets, which were explained to you by me. ।। 2-10-33 ‌‌।।

english translation

इस तरह भगवान् का बाह्य रूप अन्य लोकों की ही तरह स्थूल रूपों से घिरा हुआ है, जिनका वर्णन मैं तुमसे पहले ही कर चुका हूँ। ।। २-१०-३३ ‌‌।।

अतः परं सूक्ष्मतममव्यक्तं निर्विशेषणम् । अनादिमध्यनिधनं नित्यं वाङ्मनसः परम् ।। २-१०-३४ ।।

sanskrit

Therefore beyond this [gross manifestation] is a transcendental manifestation finer than the finest form. It has no beginning, no intermediate stage and no end; therefore it is beyond the limits of expression or mental speculation and is distinct from the material conception. ।। 2-10-34 ।।

english translation

अत: इस (स्थूल संसार) से परे दिव्य संसार है, जो सूक्ष्म से भी सूक्ष्मतर है। न तो इसका आदि है, न मध्य और न अन्त, अत: यह व्याख्या अथवा चिन्तन की सीमाओं के परे है और भौतिक बोध से भिन्न है। ।। २-१०-३४ ।।

अमुनी भगवद्रूपे मया ते अनुवर्णिते । उभे अपि न गृह्णन्ति मायासृष्टे विपश्चितः ।। २-१०-३५ ।।

Neither of the above forms of the Lord, as just described unto you from the material angle of vision, is accepted by the pure devotees of the Lord who know Him well. ।। 2-10-35 ।।

english translation

मैंने तुमसे भौतिक दृष्टिकोण से भगवान् के जिन दो रूपों का ऊपर वर्णन किया है, उनमें से कोई भी भगवान् को जानने वाले शुद्ध भक्तों द्वारा स्वीकार नहीं किया जाता। ।। २-१०-३५ ।।
