यदा देवर्षयः सप्त मघासु विचरन्ति हि । तदा प्रवृत्तस्तु कलिर्द्वादशाब्दशतात्मकः ॥ १२-२-३१ ॥
When the constellation of the seven sages is passing through the lunar mansion Maghā, the Age of Kali begins. It comprises twelve hundred years of the demigods. ॥ 12-2-31 ॥

जब सप्तऋषियों का नक्षत्र चंद्र भवन माघ से होकर गुजरता है, तो कलियुग का आरंभ होता है। इसमें देवताओं के बारह सौ वर्ष सम्मिलित हैं। ॥ १२-२-३१ ॥

यदा मघाभ्यो यास्यन्ति पूर्वाषाढां महर्षयः । तदा नन्दात्प्रभृत्येष कलिर्वृद्धिं गमिष्यति ॥ १२-२-३२ ॥
When the great sages of the Saptarṣi constellation pass from Maghā to Pūrvāsāḍhā, Kali will have his full strength, beginning from King Nanda and his dynasty. ॥ 12-2-32 ॥

जब सप्तर्षि नक्षत्र के महान ऋषि मघा से पूर्वाषाढ़ा तक जाएंगे, तो काली के पास राजा नंद और उनके राजवंश से शुरू होकर अपनी पूरी ताकत होगी। ॥ १२-२-३२ ॥

यस्मिन् कृष्णो दिवं यातस्तस्मिन्नेव तदाहनि । प्रतिपन्नं कलियुगमिति प्राहुः पुराविदः ॥ १२-२-३३ ॥
Those who scientifically understand the past declare that on the very day that Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa departed for the spiritual world, the influence of the Age of Kali began. ॥ 12-2-33 ॥

जो लोग वैज्ञानिक रूप से अतीत को समझते हैं, वे दावा करते हैं कि जिस दिन भगवान श्रीकृष्ण आध्यात्मिक दुनिया के लिए प्रस्थान कर गए, उसी दिन कलियुग का प्रभाव शुरू हुआ। ॥ १२-२-३३ ॥

दिव्याब्दानां सहस्रान्ते चतुर्थे तु पुनः कृतम् । भविष्यति यदा नॄणां मन आत्मप्रकाशकम् ॥ १२-२-३४ ॥
After the one thousand celestial years of Kali-yuga, the Satya-yuga will manifest again. At that time the minds of all men will become self-effulgent. ॥ 12-2-34 ॥

कलियुग के एक हजार दिव्य वर्षों के बाद, सत्ययुग फिर से प्रकट होगा। उस समय सभी मनुष्यों का मन आत्म-तेजस्वी हो जायेगा। ॥ १२-२-३४ ॥

इत्येष मानवो वंशो यथा सङ्ख्यायते भुवि । तथा विट्शूद्रविप्राणां तास्ता ज्ञेया युगे युगे ॥ १२-२-३५ ॥
Thus I have described the royal dynasty of Manu, as it is known on this earth. One can similarly study the history of the vaiśyas, śūdras and brāhmaṇas living in the various ages. ॥ 12-2-35 ॥

इस प्रकार मैंने मनु के शाही वंश का वर्णन किया है, जैसा कि इस पृथ्वी पर जाना जाता है। इसी प्रकार कोई विभिन्न युगों में रहने वाले वैश्यों, शूद्रों और ब्राह्मणों के इतिहास का अध्ययन कर सकता है। ॥ १२-२-३५ ॥
