जिह्वयातिप्रमाथिन्या जनो रसविमोहितः । मृत्युमृच्छत्यसद्बुद्धिर्मीनस्तु बडिशैर्यथा ।। ११-८-१९ ।।

sanskrit

Just as a fish, incited by the desire to enjoy his tongue, is fatally trapped on the fisherman’s hook, similarly, a foolish person is bewildered by the extremely disturbing urges of the tongue and thus is ruined. ।। 11-8-19 ।।

english translation

जिस प्रकार मछली अपनी जीभ का आनंद लेने की इच्छा से उत्तेजित होकर मछुआरे के काँटे में फँस जाती है, उसी प्रकार मूर्ख व्यक्ति जीभ की अत्यधिक व्याकुलता से मोहित होकर नष्ट हो जाता है। ।। ११-८-१९ ।।
