एवं लोकं परं विद्यान्नश्वरं कर्मनिर्मितम् । सतुल्यातिशयध्वंसं यथा मण्डलवर्तिनाम् ।। ११-३-२० ।।

One cannot find permanent happiness even on the heavenly planets, which one can attain in the next life by ritualistic ceremonies and sacrifices. Even in material heaven the living entity is disturbed by rivalry with his equals and envy of those superior to him. And since one’s residence in heaven is finished with the exhaustion of pious fruitive activities, the denizens of heaven are afflicted by fear, anticipating the destruction of their heavenly life. Thus they resemble kings who, though enviously admired by ordinary citizens, are constantly harassed by enemy kings and who therefore never attain actual happiness. ।। 11-3-20 ।।

english translation

किसी को स्वर्ग में भी स्थायी सुख नहीं मिल सकता, जिसे वह अगले जन्म में अनुष्ठानों और यज्ञों द्वारा प्राप्त कर सकता है। यहां तक ​​कि भौतिक स्वर्ग में भी जीव अपने समकक्षों के साथ प्रतिद्वंद्विता और अपने से श्रेष्ठ लोगों के प्रति ईर्ष्या से परेशान है। और चूँकि किसी का स्वर्ग में निवास पवित्र सकाम गतिविधियों की समाप्ति के साथ समाप्त हो जाता है, स्वर्ग के निवासी अपने स्वर्गीय जीवन के विनाश की आशंका से भय से पीड़ित होते हैं। इस प्रकार वे उन राजाओं के सदृश हैं, जिनकी सामान्य नागरिक ईर्ष्यापूर्वक प्रशंसा करते हैं, परंतु शत्रु राजाओं द्वारा उन्हें लगातार परेशान किया जाता है और इसलिए उन्हें कभी भी वास्तविक खुशी नहीं मिलती है। ।। ११-३-२० ।।
