उद्धव उवाच नैवात्मनो न देहस्य संसृतिर्द्रष्टृदृश्ययोः । अनात्मस्वदृशोरीश कस्य स्यादुपलभ्यते ।। ११-२८-१० ।।

Śrī Uddhava said: My dear Lord, it is not possible for this material existence to be the experience of either the soul, who is the seer, or of the body, which is the seen object. On the one hand, the spirit soul is innately endowed with perfect knowledge, and on the other hand, the material body is not a conscious, living entity. To whom, then, does this experience of material existence pertain? ।। 11-28-10 ।।

english translation

श्री उद्धव ने कहा: मेरे प्रिय भगवान, इस भौतिक अस्तित्व के लिए यह संभव नहीं है कि यह आत्मा, जो द्रष्टा है, या शरीर, जो देखी जाने वाली वस्तु है, का अनुभव हो। एक ओर, आत्मा सहज रूप से पूर्ण ज्ञान से संपन्न है, और दूसरी ओर, भौतिक शरीर एक चेतन, जीवित इकाई नहीं है। तो फिर, भौतिक अस्तित्व का यह अनुभव किससे संबंधित है? ।। ११-२८-१० ।।
