फलश्रुतिरियं नॄणां न श्रेयो रोचनं परम् । श्रेयो विवक्षया प्रोक्तं यथा भैषज्यरोचनम् ॥ ११-२१-२३ ॥
Those statements of scripture promising fruitive rewards do not prescribe the ultimate good for men but are merely enticements for executing beneficial religious duties, like promises of candy spoken to induce a child to take beneficial medicine. ॥ 11-21-23 ॥

फलदायी पुरस्कारों का वादा करने वाले धर्मग्रंथों के वे कथन पुरुषों के लिए अंतिम भलाई का निर्धारण नहीं करते हैं, बल्कि लाभकारी धार्मिक कर्तव्यों को निष्पादित करने के लिए केवल प्रलोभन हैं, जैसे कि बच्चे को लाभकारी दवा लेने के लिए प्रेरित करने के लिए बोली जाने वाली कैंडी के वादे। ॥ ११-२१-२३ ॥
