यदर्पितं तद्विकल्पे इन्द्रियैः परिधावति । रजस्वलं चासन्निष्ठं चित्तं विद्धि विपर्ययम् ।। ११-१९-२६ ।।

When consciousness is fixed on the material body, home and other, similar objects of sense gratification, one spends one’s life chasing after material objects with the help of the senses. Consciousness, thus powerfully affected by the mode of passion, becomes dedicated to impermanent things, and in this way irreligion, ignorance, attachment and wretchedness arise. ।। 11-19-26 ।।

english translation

जब चेतना भौतिक शरीर, घर और इंद्रिय संतुष्टि की अन्य समान वस्तुओं पर केंद्रित होती है, तो व्यक्ति इंद्रियों की मदद से भौतिक वस्तुओं का पीछा करते हुए अपना जीवन व्यतीत करता है। चेतना, इस प्रकार रजोगुण से शक्तिशाली रूप से प्रभावित होकर, अनित्य चीजों के प्रति समर्पित हो जाती है, और इस तरह अधर्म, अज्ञान, आसक्ति और कुटिलता उत्पन्न होती है। ।। ११-१९-२६ ।।
