एवं चीर्णेन तपसा मुनिर्धमनिसन्ततः । मां तपोमयमाराध्य ऋषिलोकादुपैति माम् ॥ ११-१८-९ ॥
The saintly vānaprastha, practicing severe penances and accepting only the bare necessities of life, becomes so emaciated that he appears to be mere skin and bones. Thus worshiping Me through severe penances, he goes to the Maharloka planet and then directly achieves Me. ॥ 11-18-9 ॥

संत वानप्रस्थ, गंभीर तपस्या करते हुए और जीवन की केवल न्यूनतम आवश्यकताओं को स्वीकार करते हुए, इतने क्षीण हो जाते हैं कि वह केवल त्वचा और हड्डियों के समान प्रतीत होते हैं। इस प्रकार घोर तपस्या द्वारा मेरी आराधना करते हुए वह महर्लोक को जाता है और फिर सीधे मुझे ही प्राप्त करता है। ॥ ११-१८-९ ॥
