यस्त्वासक्तमतिर्गेहे पुत्रवित्तैषणातुरः । स्त्रैणः कृपणधीर्मूढो ममाहमिति बध्यते ॥ ११-१७-५६ ॥
But a householder whose mind is attached to his home and who is thus disturbed by ardent desires to enjoy his money and children, who is lusty after women, who is possessed of a miserly mentality and who unintelligently thinks, “Everything is mine and I am everything,” is certainly bound in illusion. ॥ 11-17-56 ॥

लेकिन एक गृहस्थ जिसका मन अपने घर से जुड़ा हुआ है और जो अपने धन और बच्चों का आनंद लेने की तीव्र इच्छाओं से परेशान है, जो महिलाओं के लिए वासनापूर्ण है, जो कंजूस मानसिकता से युक्त है और जो अनजाने में सोचता है, "सब कुछ मेरा है और मैं हूं।" सब कुछ,'' निश्चित रूप से भ्रम में बंधा हुआ है। ॥ ११-१७-५६ ॥

yastvAsaktamatirgehe putravittaiSaNAturaH । straiNaH kRpaNadhIrmUDho mamAhamiti badhyate ॥ 11-17-56 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअहो मे पितरौ वृद्धौ भार्या बालात्मजात्मजाः । अनाथा मामृते दीनाः कथं जीवन्ति दुःखिताः ॥ ११-१७-५७ ॥
“O my poor elderly parents, and my wife with a mere infant in her arms, and my other young children! Without me they have absolutely no one to protect them and will suffer unbearably. How can my poor relatives possibly live without me?” ॥ 11-17-57 ॥
english translation
“हे मेरे गरीब बुजुर्ग माता-पिता, और गोद में एक नवजात शिशु वाली मेरी पत्नी, और मेरे अन्य छोटे बच्चे! मेरे बिना उनकी रक्षा करने वाला कोई नहीं है और उन्हें असहनीय पीड़ा होगी। मेरे गरीब रिश्तेदार मेरे बिना कैसे रह सकते हैं?” ॥ ११-१७-५७ ॥

aho me pitarau vRddhau bhAryA bAlAtmajAtmajAH । anAthA mAmRte dInAH kathaM jIvanti duHkhitAH ॥ 11-17-57 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवं गृहाशयाक्षिप्तहृदयो मूढधीरयम् । अतृप्तस्ताननुध्यायन् मृतोऽन्धं विशते तमः ॥ ११-१७-५८ ॥
Thus, because of his foolish mentality, a householder whose heart is overwhelmed by family attachment is never satisfied. Constantly meditating on his relatives, he dies and enters into the darkness of ignorance. ॥ 11-17-58 ॥

इस प्रकार, अपनी मूर्ख मानसिकता के कारण, जिस गृहस्थ का हृदय पारिवारिक मोह से अभिभूत होता है, वह कभी संतुष्ट नहीं होता है। लगातार अपने रिश्तेदारों का ध्यान करते-करते वह मर जाता है और अज्ञान के अंधकार में चला जाता है। ॥ ११-१७-५८ ॥
