सुरासुराणामुदधिं मथ्नतां मन्दराचलम् । दध्रे कमठरूपेण पृष्ठ एकादशे विभुः ।। १-३-१६ ।।
The eleventh incarnation of the Lord took the form of a tortoise whose shell served as a pivot for the Mandarācala Hill, which was being used as a churning rod by the theists and atheists of the universe. ।। 1-3-16 ।।

भगवान् का ग्यारहवाँ अवतार कच्छप के रूप में हुआ, जिनकी पीठ ब्रह्माण्ड के आस्तिकों तथा नास्तिकों के द्वारा मथानी के रूप में प्रयुक्त किये जा रहे मन्दराचल पर्वत के लिए आधार बनी। ।। १-३-१६ ।।

In the twelfth incarnation, the Lord appeared as Dhanvantari, and in the thirteenth He allured the atheists by the charming beauty of a woman and gave nectar to the demigods to drink. ।। 1-3-17 ।।

बारहवें अवतार में भगवान् धन्वन्तरि के रूप में प्रकट हुए और तेरहवें अवतार में उन्होंने स्त्री के मनोहर सौंदर्य द्वारा नास्तिकों को मोहित किया और देवताओं को पीने के लिए अमृत प्रदान किया। ।। १-३-१७ ।।

पन्द्रहवें अवतार में भगवान् ने बौने ब्राह्मण (वामन) का रूप धारण किया और वे महाराज बलि द्वारा आयोजित यज्ञ में पधारे। यद्यपि वे हृदय से तीनों लोकों का राज्य प्राप्त करना चाह रहे थे, किन्तु उन्होंने केवल तीन पग भूमि दान में माँगी। ।। १-३-१९ ।।

In the sixteenth incarnation of the Godhead, the Lord [as Bhṛgupati] annihilated the administrative class [kṣatriyas] twenty-one times, being angry with them because of their rebellion against the brāhmaṇas [the intelligent class]. ।। 1-3-20 ।।

सोलहवें अवतार में भगवान् ने (भृगुपति के रूप में) क्षत्रियों का इक्कीस बार संहार किया, क्योंकि वे ब्राह्मणों (बुद्धिमान वर्ग) के विरुद्ध किये गये विद्रोह के कारण उनसे क्रुद्ध थे। ।। १-३-२० ।।
