सुरासुराणामुदधिं मथ्नतां मन्दराचलम् । दध्रे कमठरूपेण पृष्ठ एकादशे विभुः ॥ १-३-१६ ॥
The eleventh incarnation of the Lord took the form of a tortoise whose shell served as a pivot for the Mandarācala Hill, which was being used as a churning rod by the theists and atheists of the universe. ॥ 1-3-16 ॥
english translation
भगवान् का ग्यारहवाँ अवतार कच्छप के रूप में हुआ, जिनकी पीठ ब्रह्माण्ड के आस्तिकों तथा नास्तिकों के द्वारा मथानी के रूप में प्रयुक्त किये जा रहे मन्दराचल पर्वत के लिए आधार बनी। ॥ १-३-१६ ॥
