रूपंसजगृहेमात्स्यं चाक्षुषोदधिसम्प्लवे । नाव्यारोप्य महीमय्यामपाद्वैवस्वतं मनुम् ।। १-३-१५ ।।

sanskrit

When there was a complete inundation after the period of the Cākṣuṣa Manu and the whole world was deep within water, the Lord accepted the form of a fish and protected Vaivasvata Manu, keeping him up on a boat. ।। 1-3-15 ।।

english translation

जब चाक्षुष मनु के युग के बाद पूर्ण जलप्रलय हुआ और सारा जगत जल में डूब गया था, तब भगवान् मछली (मत्स्य) के रूप में प्रकट हुए और वैवस्वत मनु को नाव में रखकर उनकी रक्षा की। ।। १-३-१५ ।।
