प्रसादान्मम योगज्ञः कर्मबंधं प्रहास्यति ॥ पुण्यःपुण्यात्मकं कर्ममुक्तेस्तत्प्रतिबंधकम् ॥ तस्मान्नियोगतो योगी पुण्यापुण्यं विवर्जयेत् ॥ ४१ ॥
By My grace the knower of yoga will be freed from the bondage of karma. Pious and pious actions are the obstacles to liberation. Therefore, by engaging in the practice of yoga, the yogī should avoid pious and impious activities.
english translation
prasAdAnmama yogajJaH karmabaMdhaM prahAsyati ॥ puNyaHpuNyAtmakaM karmamuktestatpratibaMdhakam ॥ tasmAnniyogato yogI puNyApuNyaM vivarjayet ॥ 41 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptफलकामनया कर्मकरणात्प्रतिबध्यते ॥ न कर्ममात्रकरणात्तस्मात्कर्मफलं त्यजेत् ॥ ४२ ॥
One is not subjected to bondage merely by the performance of rites. If the rites are performed with desire for the fruits thereof it results in bondage. Hence one shall abandon the fruits of actions.
english translation
phalakAmanayA karmakaraNAtpratibadhyate ॥ na karmamAtrakaraNAttasmAtkarmaphalaM tyajet ॥ 42 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रथमं कर्मयज्ञेन बहिः सम्पूज्य मां प्रिये ॥ ज्ञानयोगरतो भूत्वा पश्चाद्योगं समभ्यसेत् ॥ ४३ ॥
O beloved, at the outset the devotee shall worship me externally by means of Karmayajña. Then he shall resort to the path of knowledge. Afterwards he shall practise Yoga.
english translation
prathamaM karmayajJena bahiH sampUjya mAM priye ॥ jJAnayogarato bhUtvA pazcAdyogaM samabhyaset ॥ 43 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविदिते मम याथात्म्ये कर्मयज्ञेन देहिनः ॥ न यजंति हि मां युक्ताः समलोष्टाश्मकांचनाः ॥ ४४ ॥
The Yogins who have understood my innate nature by karma-yajña and who view a clod of earth, a pebble and a gold ingot all alike do not worship me further.
english translation
vidite mama yAthAtmye karmayajJena dehinaH ॥ na yajaMti hi mAM yuktAH samaloSTAzmakAMcanAH ॥ 44 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनित्ययुक्तो मुनिः श्रेष्ठो मद्भक्तश्च समाहितः ॥ ज्ञानयोगरतो योगी मम सायुज्यमाप्नुयात् ॥ ४५ ॥
A Yogin engaged in the path of knowledge, an excellent sage permanently engaged in Yoga, my devotee enriched by purity of mind, shall attain my Sāyujya.
english translation
nityayukto muniH zreSTho madbhaktazca samAhitaH ॥ jJAnayogarato yogI mama sAyujyamApnuyAt ॥ 45 ॥
