श्रीसूत उवाच ॥ इति स विजितमन्योर्यादवेनोपमन्योरधिगतमभिधाय ज्ञानयोगं मुनिभ्यः ॥ प्रणतिमुपगतेभ्यस्तेभ्य उद्भावितात्मा सपदि वियति वायुः सायमन्तर्हितो ऽभूत् ॥ १ ॥
Sūta said:— After explaining to the sages, who honoured and exalted him, the path of knowledge that had been previously imparted by the sage Upamanyu of restrained senses to Śrī Kṛṣṇa, Vāyu vanished in the air at sunset.
english translation
ततः प्रभातसमये नैमिषीयास्तपोधनाः ॥ सत्रान्ते ऽवभृथं कर्तुं सर्व एव समुद्ययुः ॥ २ ॥
The next day in the morning the sages of Naimiṣa set out to perform the holy rite of ablution at the end of their Sattra.
english translation
तदा ब्रह्मसमादेशाद्देवी साक्षात्सरस्वती ॥ प्रसन्ना स्वादुसलिला प्रावर्तत नदीशुभा ॥ ३ ॥
Then at the behest of Brahmā the delighted goddess Sarasvatī herself flowed as an auspicious river of sweet water.
english translation
सरस्वतीं नदीं दृष्ट्वा मुनयो हृष्टमानसाः ॥ समाप्य सत्रं प्रारब्धं चक्रुस्तत्रावगाहनम् ॥ ४ ॥
On seeing her the sages were delighted in their minds. They concluded the Sattra they had begun and plunged into the river.

अथ संतर्प्य देवादींस्तदीयैः सलिलैः शिवैः ॥ स्मरन्तः पूर्ववृत्तान्तं ययुर्वाराणसीं प्रति ॥ ५ ॥
After performing the rite of Tarpaṇa to the gods with her auspicious waters they remembered the previous events and went to Vārāṇasī.
