भैरव उवाच ॥ त्वद्वाक्पीयूषपानेन तृप्तोऽस्मि बहुमानद ॥ स्वभावोऽयं हि साधूनां यत्त्वं वदसि मापते ॥ ४६ ॥
Bkairava said:— O lord of Lakṣmī, O bestower of honour, I am satisfied by drinking the nectar of your words. Whatever you say is natural to good-natured persons.
english translation
वरं वृणीष्व गोविंद वरदोऽस्मि तवानघ ॥ अग्रणीर्मम भक्तानां त्वं हरे निर्विकारवान् ॥ ४७ ॥
O Viṣṇu, choose your boon, O sinless one, I am the granter of boons. O Viṣṇu, you are free from aberrations and are the foremost among my devotees.
english translation
नो माद्यन्ति तथा भैक्ष्यैर्भिक्षवोऽप्यतिसंस्कृतैः॥ यथा मानसुधापानैर्ननु भिक्षाटनज्वराः ॥ ४८ ॥
Mendicants suffering from the fever of begging alms do not turn mad with the good articles of alms so much as by the drinking in of the nectar of honour.
english translation
नन्दीश्वर उवाच ॥ इत्याकर्ण्य वचः शंभो भैरवस्य परात्मनः ॥ सुप्रसन्नतरो भूत्वा समवोचन्महेश्वरम् ॥ ४९ ॥
Nandīśvara said:— On hearing the words of high-souled Bhairava, Viṣṇu became delighted and spoke to him.
english translation
विष्णुरुवाच ॥ एष एव वरः श्लाघ्यो यदहं देक्ताधिपम् ॥ पश्यामि त्वान्देवदेव मनोवाणी पथातिगम् ॥ ५० ॥
Viṣṇu said:— O lord of gods, this itself is a great favour that I see you who being the lord of the gods are inconceivable by mind and speech.
