Shiva Purana
शिवावतारस्सोमेशो लिंगरूपेण संस्थितः॥ सौराष्ट्रे शुभदेशे च शशिना पूजितः पुरा ॥ ७॥
This incarnation of Śiva, Someśa, is stationed in the auspicious land of Saurāṣṭra, in the form of a phallic image. It was worshipped by the moon formerly.

zivAvatArassomezo liMgarUpeNa saMsthitaH॥ saurASTre zubhadeze ca zazinA pUjitaH purA ॥ 7॥
