अर्जुन उवाच ॥ अज्ञात्वा किंच वदसि मूर्खोसि त्वं वनेचर ॥ बाणश्च मोचितो मेऽद्य त्वदीयश्च कथं पुनः ॥ ६॥
Arjuna said:— O forest-roamer, what do you say without understanding? You are a fool. This arrow had been discharged by me just now. How can it be yours?
english translation
रेखारूपं च पिच्छानि मन्नामांकित एव च ॥ त्वदीयश्च कथं जातः स्वभावो दुस्त्यजस्तव ॥ ७॥
It is engraved with my name in many lines. The feathers are mine. How does it become yours? You insist according to your wild nature.

॥ नन्दीश्वर उवाच ॥ इत्येवन्तद्वचः श्रुत्वा विहस्य स गणेश्वरः ॥ अर्जुनं ऋषिरूपं तं भिल्लो वाक्यमुपाददे ॥ ८ ॥
Nandīśvara said:— On hearing his words, the leader of the Gaṇas laughed and spoke to Arjuna who was in the garb of a sage.

तापस श्रूयतां रे त्वं न तपः क्रियते त्वया ॥ वेषतश्च तपस्वी त्वं न यथार्थं छलायते ॥ ९ ॥
O sage, listen. You are a sage in disguise. You are not a true sage. You do not perform penance. People are being deceived by you.
english translation
तपस्वी च कथं मिथ्या भाषते कुरुते नरः ॥ नैकाकिनं च मां त्वं च जानीहि वाहिनीपतिम् ॥ १० ॥
How can a saint utter a lie? Do not take me to be single-handed. Know me to be the commander-in-chief.
