इन्द्रस्तु सुखदाता वै मुक्तिदाता भवेन्न हि ॥ तस्मात्त्वं सर्वथा श्रेष्ठ कर्तुमर्हसि सत्तपः॥ ४५॥

sanskrit

Indra is the bestower of happiness and not of salvation. O excellent one, it behoves you therefore to perform a more excellent penance.

english translation

indrastu sukhadAtA vai muktidAtA bhavenna hi ॥ tasmAttvaM sarvathA zreSTha kartumarhasi sattapaH॥ 45॥
