येनेदञ्च धृतन्तेन व्याप्तमेव न संशयः ॥ प्रथमम्मातृगर्भे वै जन्म दुःखस्य कारणम् ॥ २२॥

sanskrit

By this misery alone is the body held and pervaded. There is no doubt in this. At the outset, the very birth in the mother’s womb is a cause of misery.

english translation

yenedaJca dhRtantena vyAptameva na saMzayaH ॥ prathamammAtRgarbhe vai janma duHkhasya kAraNam ॥ 22॥
