पूर्वं दक्षगृहे जन्म सती शङ्करकामिनी ॥ योगेन त्यक्तदेहाहं तातेन पतिनिन्दिना ॥ २५ ॥

Formerly my birth was in the house of Dakṣa. I was then Satī, the wife of Śiva. On account of my father’s insulting my husband I cast off my body by means of Yoga.

english translation

pUrvaM dakSagRhe janma satI zaGkarakAminI ॥ yogena tyaktadehAhaM tAtena patinindinA ॥ 25 ॥
