Shiva Purana
ब्राह्मणै कृतसंस्कारौ कृतोपनयनौ च तौ ॥ ववृधाते स्वगेहे च शिवपूजनतत्परौ ॥ ६७॥
Their sacred rites and the investiture with the sacred thread were performed by the brahmins. They grew up thus devoted to the worship of Śiva in their own house.
english translation
brAhmaNai kRtasaMskArau kRtopanayanau ca tau ॥ vavRdhAte svagehe ca zivapUjanatatparau ॥ 67॥
