नन्दीश्वर उवाच ॥ शृणु तात महाप्राज्ञ विधिकामप्रपूरकम् ॥ अर्द्धनारीनराख्यं हि शिवरूपमनुत्तमम् ॥ १ ॥

Nandīśvara said:— O dear one of great intellect, please listen to the description of Śiva’s form half-male and half-female,॥ 1॥ than which there is nothing more excellent and which completes the work of the Creator.

english translation

nandIzvara uvAca ॥ zRNu tAta mahAprAjJa vidhikAmaprapUrakam ॥ arddhanArInarAkhyaM hi zivarUpamanuttamam ॥ 1 ॥
