बहुकालो व्यतीयाय तस्मिंस्तपति सत्तपः ॥ आविर्बभूव तत्कात्तु शुचिर्ज्वाला महीयसी ॥ ६ ॥
A long time elapsed while he performed the holy penance. A holy flame of fire came out of him.
english translation
bahukAlo vyatIyAya tasmiMstapati sattapaH ॥ AvirbabhUva tatkAttu zucirjvAlA mahIyasI ॥ 6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतया सन्निखिला लोका दग्धप्राया मुनीश्वराः ॥ तथा सुरर्षयः सर्वे पीडिता वासवादयः ॥ ७ ॥
O great sage, the worlds were almost burnt by that flame. Indra and other gods and the celestial sages too were afflicted by it.
english translation
tayA sannikhilA lokA dagdhaprAyA munIzvarAH ॥ tathA surarSayaH sarve pIDitA vAsavAdayaH ॥ 7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथ सर्वे वासवाद्या सुराश्च मुनयो मुने ॥ ब्रह्मस्थानं ययुश्शीघ्रं तज्ज्वालातिप्रपीडिताः ॥ ८ ॥
Then, highly distressed by that flame, O sage, Indra and other gods and the sages hastened to the abode of Brahmā.
english translation
atha sarve vAsavAdyA surAzca munayo mune ॥ brahmasthAnaM yayuzzIghraM tajjvAlAtiprapIDitAH ॥ 8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनत्वा नुत्वा विधिन्देवास्तत्स्वदुःखन्न्यवेदयन् ॥ ब्रह्मा सह सुरैस्तात विष्णुलोकं ययावरम् ॥ ९॥
After bowing to and eulogising Brahmā the gods mentioned to him their grief. O dear, Brahmā immediately went to Viṣṇu’s region along with the god.
english translation
natvA nutvA vidhindevAstatsvaduHkhannyavedayan ॥ brahmA saha suraistAta viSNulokaM yayAvaram ॥ 9॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत्र गत्वा रमानाथं नत्वा नुत्वा विधिस्सुरैः ॥ स्वदुःखन्तत्समाचख्यौ विष्णवेऽनन्तकं मुने ॥ १० ॥
O sage, after reaching there along with the gods Brahmā bowed to and eulogised Viṣṇu and mentioned his endless grief to him.
english translation
tatra gatvA ramAnAthaM natvA nutvA vidhissuraiH ॥ svaduHkhantatsamAcakhyau viSNave'nantakaM mune ॥ 10 ॥
