ब्रह्मचर्य्याश्रमे निष्ठो ब्रह्मयज्ञरतस्सदा ॥ शाण्डिल्यगोत्रः शुचिमान्ब्रह्मतेजो निधिर्व्वशी ॥ ४ ॥

sanskrit

While in the stage of celibacy, he was devoted to Brahmayajña rites. He belonged to the Śāṇḍilya lineage. He was pure, the storehouse of Brahminical splendour and had self-control.

english translation

brahmacaryyAzrame niSTho brahmayajJaratassadA ॥ zANDilyagotraH zucimAnbrahmatejo nidhirvvazI ॥ 4 ॥
