असकृच्चिन्तयामास किं लिंगं क्षिप्रसिद्धिदम् ॥ यत्र निश्चलतामेति तपस्तनयकाम्यया ॥ २६ ॥
He thought frequently—“What is that phallic image that yields the result quickly? Where can the penance due to the longing for a son find ultimate rest.”
english translation
asakRccintayAmAsa kiM liMgaM kSiprasiddhidam ॥ yatra nizcalatAmeti tapastanayakAmyayA ॥ 26 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptक्षणं विचार्य्य स मुनिरिति विश्वानरस्सुधीः ॥ क्षिप्रम्पुत्रप्रदं लिंगं वीरेशम्प्रशशंस ह ॥ २७ ॥
Thinking thus for a moment, the intelligent sage Viśvānara praised the Vīreśa form of Śiva which confers the blessings of a son immediately.
english translation
kSaNaM vicAryya sa muniriti vizvAnarassudhIH ॥ kSipramputrapradaM liMgaM vIrezamprazazaMsa ha ॥ 27 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअसंख्यातास्सहस्राणि सिद्धाः सिद्धिं गतास्ततः ॥ सिद्धलिंगमिति ख्यातन्तस्माद्वीरेश्वरम्परम् ॥ २८ ॥
Innumerable thousands of Siddhas have derived the fulfilment of their desire from the worship of Śiva. Hence Vīreśa is famous as the Fruit-yielding phallic image.

asaMkhyAtAssahasrANi siddhAH siddhiM gatAstataH ॥ siddhaliMgamiti khyAtantasmAdvIrezvaramparam ॥ 28 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवीरेश्वरम्महालिंगमब्दमभ्यर्च्य भक्तितः ॥ आयुर्मनोरथं सर्वं पुत्रादिकमनेकशः ॥ २९ ॥
If any one worships the Vīreśvara phallic image for a year with great devotion he obtains longevity, cherished desires, sons and other things.

vIrezvarammahAliMgamabdamabhyarcya bhaktitaH ॥ AyurmanorathaM sarvaM putrAdikamanekazaH ॥ 29 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअहमप्यत्र वीरेशं समाराध्य त्रिकालताः ॥ आशु पुत्रमवाप्स्यामि यथाभिलषितं स्त्रिया ॥ ३० ॥
I too shall worship Vīreśa here thrice a day and shall ere long acquire a son as desired by my wife.
english translation
ahamapyatra vIrezaM samArAdhya trikAlatAH ॥ Azu putramavApsyAmi yathAbhilaSitaM striyA ॥ 30 ॥
