दग्धोसि पश्य शूलाग्रे विष्वक्सेनच्छलाद्भवान् ।। दक्षयज्ञे शिरश्छिन्नं मया तेजःस्वरूपिणा ।। ५१ ।।

You were burnt by the fire of the Trident, O Viṣvaksena. At the time of Dakṣa’s sacrifice your head was cut off by me brilliant in form.

dagdhosi pazya zUlAgre viSvaksenacchalAdbhavAn || dakSayajJe zirazchinnaM mayA tejaHsvarUpiNA || 51 ||

अद्यापि तव पुत्रस्य ब्रह्मणः पञ्चमं शिरः ।। छिन्नं न सज्जितं भूयो हरे तद्विस्मृतन्त्वया ।। ५२।।

O Viṣṇu, the fifth head of Brahmā your son, which was cut, has not been set right even now. It is forgotten by you.

adyApi tava putrasya brahmaNaH paJcamaM ziraH || chinnaM na sajjitaM bhUyo hare tadvismRtantvayA || 52||

निर्जितस्त्वं दधीचेन संग्रामे समरुद्गणः ।। कण्डूयमाने शिरसि कथं तद्विस्मृतन्त्वया ।। ५३ ।।

In a battle you were defeated by Dadhīca along with the gods.[4] How can it be forgotten by you while scratching your head?

nirjitastvaM dadhIcena saMgrAme samarudgaNaH || kaNDUyamAne zirasi kathaM tadvismRtantvayA || 53 ||

चक्रं विक्रमतो यस्य चक्रपाणे तव प्रियम् ।। कुतः प्राप्तं कृतं केन त्वया तदपि विस्मृतम् ।। ५४ ।।

O discus-armed one, you are fond of your discus but you have forgotten whence you got it and by whom it was made.

cakraM vikramato yasya cakrapANe tava priyam || kutaH prAptaM kRtaM kena tvayA tadapi vismRtam || 54 ||

ये मया सकला लोका गृहीतास्त्वं पयोनिधौ ।। निद्रापरवशश्शेषे स कथं सात्त्विको भवान् ।। ५५।।

Whatever worlds I have seized, in them, you lie down in the ocean, overcome by sleep. How can you then be a Sāttvika?

ye mayA sakalA lokA gRhItAstvaM payonidhau || nidrAparavazazzeSe sa kathaM sAttviko bhavAn || 55||
