    अध्यात्मज्ञाननित्यत्वं तत्त्वज्ञानार्थदर्शनम् । एतज्ज्ञानमिति प्रोक्तमज्ञानं यदतोऽन्यथा ॥ १३-१२॥adhyAtmajJAnanityatvaM tattvajJAnArthadarzanam । etajjJAnamiti proktamajJAnaM yadato'nyathA ॥ 13-12॥Constant contemplation on the knowledge pertaining to the self, reflection for the attainment of knowledge of the truth - this is declared to be knowledge, and what is contrary to it is ignorance.

    अमानित्वमदम्भित्वमहिंसा क्षान्तिरार्जवम् । आचार्योपासनं शौचं स्थैर्यमात्मविनिग्रहः ॥ १३-८॥amAnitvamadambhitvamahiMsA kSAntirArjavam । AcAryopAsanaM zaucaM sthairyamAtmavinigrahaH ॥ 13-8॥Humility, unpretentiousness, non-violence, forgiveness, ingenuity, service of the teacher, purity, steadfastness, self-control.

    नान्तोऽस्ति मम दिव्यानां विभूतीनां परन्तप । एष तूद्देशतः प्रोक्तो विभूतेर्विस्तरो मया ॥ १०-४०॥nAnto'sti mama divyAnAM vibhUtInAM parantapa । eSa tUddezataH prokto vibhUtervistaro mayA ॥ 10-40॥O Parantap ( destroyer of enemies ), There is no limit to My divine and auspicious manifestations. Here the extent of such manifestations has been made in brief by Me.

    वृष्णीनां वासुदेवोऽस्मि पाण्डवानां धनञ्जयः । मुनीनामप्यहं व्यासः कवीनामुशना कविः ॥ १०-३७॥vRSNInAM vAsudevo'smi pANDavAnAM dhanaJjayaH । munInAmapyahaM vyAsaH kavInAmuzanA kaviH ॥ 10-37॥Among the Vrishnis I am Vaasudeva; among the Pandavas I am Dhananjaya (Arjuna); among the sages I am Vyasa; among the Poets I am Usanas (Sukracharya), the poet.

    महाभूतान्यहङ्कारो बुद्धिरव्यक्तमेव च । इन्द्रियाणि दशैकं च पञ्च चेन्द्रियगोचराः ॥ १३-६॥mahAbhUtAnyahaGkAro buddhiravyaktameva ca । indriyANi dazaikaM ca paJca cendriyagocarAH ॥ 13-6॥The ॥ five॥ great elements, the Egoism. The Intellect, the Unmanifest ( MulaPrakriti ) , and also the ten sense-organs and one (mind), and the five objects of the senses.
