I am desirous of obtaining a (mighty) son capable of killing Indra. - ॥ 1-46-2॥

Rama, afflicted with great grief when her sons were killed, Diti said to her husband Sage Kashyapa, the son of Sage Maareechi." Thus Vishvamitra continued narration. ॥ 1-46-1॥

He ruled the worlds in the company of rishis and celestial singers. ॥ 1-45-45॥

    ये गताभिमुखं विष्णुमक्षरं पुरुषोत्तमम्। संपिष्टास्ते तदा युद्धे विष्णुना प्रभविष्णुना॥ १-४५-४३ye gatAbhimukhaM viSNumakSaraM puruSottamam। saMpiSTAste tadA yuddhe viSNunA prabhaviSNunA॥ 1-45-43Those who opposed the imperishable, supreme purusha, Vishnu, in the battle were crushed by all powerful Vishnu. ॥ 1-45-43॥

    एकतामगमन् सर्वे असुरा राक्षसैः सह। युद्धमासीन् महाघोरं वीरत्रैलोक्यमोहनम्॥ १-४५-४१ekatAmagaman sarve asurA rAkSasaiH saha। yuddhamAsIn mahAghoraM vIratrailokyamohanam॥ 1-45-41Oh ! Heroic Rama all the asuras along with the rakshasas joined on one side. A violent and a dreadful battle which threw the three worlds in to a great confusion, ensued. ॥ 1-45-41॥

    तस्य शापेन महता रम्भा शैली तदाभवत् । वचः श्रुत्वा च कन्दर्पो महर्षेः स च निर्गतः ॥ १-६४-१५tasya zApena mahatA rambhA zailI tadAbhavat । vacaH zrutvA ca kandarpo maharSeH sa ca nirgataH ॥ 1-64-15By that mighty curse of the great saint ( Vishvamitra ), Rambha transformed into a rock and Kamadeva ( Love-god ) and Indra also took flight. ॥ 1-64-15

    अथ तस्य कृते राम महानासीत् कुलक्षयः। अदितेस्तु ततः पुत्रा दितेः पुत्रानसूदयन्॥ १-४५-४०atha tasya kRte rAma mahAnAsIt kulakSayaH। aditestu tataH putrA diteH putrAnasUdayan॥ 1-45-40O Rama the race of suraa-s and asuraa-s suffered great destruction because of (their fight for) that nectar. Thereafter Aditi's sons, the suraa-s killed Diti's sons, the asuraa-s. ॥ 1-45-40॥

    उच्चैःश्रवा हयश्रेष्ठो मणिरत्नं च कौस्तुभम्। उदतिष्ठन्नरश्रेष्ठ तथैवामृतमुत्तमम्॥ १-४५-३९uccaiHzravA hayazreSTho maNiratnaM ca kaustubham। udatiSThannarazreSTha tathaivAmRtamuttamam॥ 1-45-39Oh ! Foremost among men (Rama), then a best horse called Ucchaishravaa emerged, and then a gem of a jewel, called Kaustubha, and like that amrita ( the Supreme ambrosial elixir of gods ) also emerged. ॥ 1-45-39॥
