    सृजन् दक्षिणमार्गस्थान् सप्तर्षीनपरान् पुनः । नक्षत्रमालामपरामसृजत् क्रोधमूर्च्छितः ॥ १-६०-२१sRjan dakSiNamArgasthAn saptarSInaparAn punaH । nakSatramAlAmaparAmasRjat krodhamUrcchitaH ॥ 1-60-21- who conjured up a constellation of seven new rishis (stars) stationed in the southern quarter. Overcome by anger he further a new group of stars sequentially. ॥ 1-60-21॥

Standing in the midst of the ascetics, that mighty sage looked like another creator Brahma - ॥ 1-60-20॥

    विक्रोशमानस्त्राहीति विश्वामित्रं तपोधनम् । तच्छ्रुत्वा वचनं तस्य क्रोशमानस्य कौशिकः ॥ १-६०-१९vikrozamAnastrAhIti vizvAmitraM tapodhanam । tacchrutvA vacanaM tasya krozamAnasya kauzikaH ॥ 1-60-19- and loudly exclaiming at the ascetically wealthy Vishvamitra saying, 'save me, save me'. On hearing the exclamatory sentence of Trishanku who was shouting it loudly - ॥ 1-60-19॥

    गुरुशापहतो मूढ पतभूमिमवाग् शिराः । एवमुक्तो महेन्द्रेण त्रिशंकुरपतत् पुनः ॥ १-६०-१८guruzApahato mUDha patabhUmimavAg zirAH । evamukto mahendreNa trizaMkurapatat punaH ॥ 1-60-18- you fool Doomed by the curse of your spiritual preceptor, fall on earth, with your head downward. When Mahendra said so, Trishanku started falling down ( from heaven ) . - ॥ 1-60-18॥

    सह सर्वैः सुरगणैरिदं वचनमब्रवीत् । त्रिशंको गच्छ भूयस्त्वं नासि स्वर्गकृतालयः ॥ १-६०-१७saha sarvaiH suragaNairidaM vacanamabravIt । trizaMko gaccha bhUyastvaM nAsi svargakRtAlayaH ॥ 1-60-17- spoke this sentence together with all the multitudes of gods 'Oh ! Trishanku you are not fit to inhabit heaven. Again go back ॥ 1-60-17॥

    दिवं जगाम काकुत्स्थ मुनीनां पश्यतां तदा । स्वर्गलोकं गतं दृष्ट्वा त्रिशंकुं पाकशासनः ॥ १-६०-१६divaM jagAma kAkutstha munInAM pazyatAM tadA । svargalokaM gataM dRSTvA trizaMkuM pAkazAsanaH ॥ 1-60-16- Oh ! Descendant of Kakustha (Rama), ascended to heaven in the presence of the sages. On seeing Trishanku's entry into the realm of heaven, Indra, the subjugator of demon Paaka - ॥ 1-60-16॥

    राजन् त्वं तेजसा तस्य सशरीरो दिवं व्रज । उक्तवाक्ये मुनौ तस्मिन् सशरीरो नरेश्वरः ॥ १-६०-१५rAjan tvaM tejasA tasya sazarIro divaM vraja । uktavAkye munau tasmin sazarIro narezvaraH ॥ 1-60-15- Oh ! king, you will journey to heaven with your own body owing to that prowess of my ascesis.' When the sage had said these words, the king with his physical body - ॥ 1-60-15॥

    दुष्प्रापं स्वशरीरेण दिवं गच्छ नराधिप । स्वार्जितं किंचिदप्यस्ति मया हि तपसः फलम् ॥ १-६०-१४duSprApaM svazarIreNa divaM gaccha narAdhipa । svArjitaM kiMcidapyasti mayA hi tapasaH phalam ॥ 1-60-14- Oh ! King go to heaven with physical body which is not possible for anybody to accomplish. By the power of what little fruit of austerities I have earned - ॥ 1-60-14॥

    पश्य मे तपसो वीर्यं स्वार्जितस्य नरेश्वर । एष त्वां स्वशरीरेण नयामि स्वर्गमोजसा ॥ १-६०-१३pazya me tapaso vIryaM svArjitasya narezvara । eSa tvAM svazarIreNa nayAmi svargamojasA ॥ 1-60-13'Oh ! King behold the prowess of my selfearned asceticism. With my spiritual might, I shall send you to heaven with your physical body. ॥ 1-60-13॥

    ततः कोपसमाविष्टो विश्वमित्रो महामुनिः । स्रुवमुद्यम्य सक्रोधस्त्रिशंकुमिदमब्रवीत् ॥ १-६०-१२tataH kopasamAviSTo vizvamitro mahAmuniH । sruvamudyamya sakrodhastrizaMkumidamabravIt ॥ 1-60-12- the great ascetic Viswamitra seized with anger lifted the sacrificial ladle and said to Trisanku ॥ 1-60-12॥
