Even if you bite it, O serpent, I will revive it."' ॥ 1-39-3 ॥

How many mystic perfections are there? Please explain these things to me. Indeed, You are the bestower of all mystic perfections. ॥ 11-15-2 ॥

    उदितेऽनुदिते चैव समयाध्युषिते तथा । सर्वथा वर्तते यज्ञ इतीयं वैदिकी श्रुतिः ॥ १५ ॥udite'nudite caiva samayAdhyuSite tathA । sarvathA vartate yajJa itIyaM vaidikI zrutiH ॥ 15 ॥(Thus) the (Agnihotra) sacrifice may be (optionally) performed, at any time after the sun has risen, before he has risen, or when neither sun nor stars are visible; that (is declared) by Vedic texts.

    श्रीभगवानुवाच जितेन्द्रियस्य युक्तस्य जितश्वासस्य योगिनः । मयि धारयतश्चेत उपतिष्ठन्ति सिद्धयः ॥ ११-१५-१ ॥zrIbhagavAnuvAca jitendriyasya yuktasya jitazvAsasya yoginaH । mayi dhArayatazceta upatiSThanti siddhayaH ॥ 11-15-1 ॥The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: My dear Uddhava, the mystic perfections of yoga are acquired by a yogī who has conquered his senses, steadied his mind, conquered the breathing process and fixed his mind on Me. ॥ 11-15-1 ॥

    प्रायेण भक्तियोगेन सत्सङ्गेन विनोद्धव । नोपायो विद्यते सध्र्यङ् प्रायणं हि सतामहम् ॥ ११-११-४८ ॥prAyeNa bhaktiyogena satsaGgena vinoddhava । nopAyo vidyate sadhryaG prAyaNaM hi satAmaham ॥ 11-11-48 ॥My dear Uddhava, I am personally the ultimate shelter and way of life for saintly liberated persons, and thus if one does not engage in My loving devotional service, which is made possible by associating with My devotees, then for all practical purposes, one possesses no effective means for escaping from material existence. ॥ 11-11-48 ॥
