    ज्ञानं निःश्रेयसार्थाय पुरुषस्यात्मदर्शनम् । यदाहुर्वर्णये तत्ते हृदयग्रन्थिभेदनम् ॥ ३-२६-२ ॥jJAnaM niHzreyasArthAya puruSasyAtmadarzanam । yadAhurvarNaye tatte hRdayagranthibhedanam ॥ 3-26-2 ॥Knowledge is the ultimate perfection of self-realization. I shall explain that knowledge unto you by which the knots of attachment to the material world are cut. ॥ 3-26-2 ॥

    यूथबद्धांश्च पृषतान्मदोन्मत्तान् विषाणिनः । महिषांश्च वराहांश्च नागांश्च द्रुमवैरिणः ॥ ३-११-४yUthabaddhAMzca pRSatAnmadonmattAn viSANinaH । mahiSAMzca varAhAMzca nAgAMzca drumavairiNaH ॥ 3-11-4(Watching) herds of deer, intoxicated horned buffaloes, wild boars and elephants who are enemies of trees (elephants uproot trees). ॥ 3-11-3॥

    सारसांश्चक्रवाकांश्च नदीपुलिनचारिणः। सरांसि च सपद्मानि युक्तानि जलजैः खगैः ॥ ३-११-३sArasAMzcakravAkAMzca nadIpulinacAriNaH। sarAMsi ca sapadmAni yuktAni jalajaiH khagaiH ॥ 3-11-3(Watching) the swans and ruddy geese on river banks and lakes full of lotuses, and birds on water and in the sky. ॥ 3-11-3॥

    अग्रतः प्रययौ रामः सीता मध्ये सुशोभना । पृष्ठतः तु धनुष्पाणिः लक्ष्मणः अनुजगाम ह ॥ ३-११-१agrataH prayayau rAmaH sItA madhye suzobhanA । pRSThataH tu dhanuSpANiH lakSmaNaH anujagAma ha ॥ 3-11-1Rama walked in front, Sita with a beautiful waist, in the middle and Lakshmana holding the bow, behind them. ॥ 3-11-1॥

    एतावानेव लोकेऽस्मिन् पुंसां निःश्रेयसोदयः । तीव्रेण भक्तियोगेन मनो मय्यर्पितं स्थिरम् ॥ ३-२५-४४ ॥etAvAneva loke'smin puMsAM niHzreyasodayaH । tIvreNa bhaktiyogena mano mayyarpitaM sthiram ॥ 3-25-44 ॥Therefore persons whose minds are fixed on the Lord engage in the intensive practice of devotional service. That is the only means for attainment of the final perfection of life. ॥ 3-25-44 ॥

    ज्ञानवैराग्ययुक्तेन भक्तियोगेन योगिनः । क्षेमाय पादमूलं मे प्रविशन्त्यकुतोभयम् ॥ ३-२५-४३ ॥jJAnavairAgyayuktena bhaktiyogena yoginaH । kSemAya pAdamUlaM me pravizantyakutobhayam ॥ 3-25-43 ॥The yogīs, equipped with transcendental knowledge and renunciation and engaged in devotional service for their eternal benefit, take shelter of My lotus feet, and since I am the Lord, they are thus eligible to enter into the kingdom of Godhead without fear. ॥ 3-25-43 ॥

    मद्भयाद्वाति वातोयं सूर्यस्तपति मद्भयात् । वर्षतीन्द्रो दहत्यग्निर्मृत्युश्चरति मद्भयात् ॥ ३-२५-४२ ॥madbhayAdvAti vAtoyaM sUryastapati madbhayAt । varSatIndro dahatyagnirmRtyuzcarati madbhayAt ॥ 3-25-42 ॥It is because of My supremacy that the wind blows, out of fear of Me; the sun shines out of fear of Me, and the lord of the clouds, Indra, sends forth showers out of fear of Me. Fire burns out of fear of Me, and death goes about taking its toll out of fear of Me. ॥ 3-25-42 ॥
