इन्द्रो॑ अ॒स्माँ अ॑रद॒द्वज्र॑बाहु॒रपा॑हन्वृ॒त्रं प॑रि॒धिं न॒दीना॑म् । दे॒वो॑ऽनयत्सवि॒ता सु॑पा॒णिस्तस्य॑ व॒यं प्र॑स॒वे या॑म उ॒र्वीः ॥ इन्द्रो अस्माँ अरदद्वज्रबाहुरपाहन्वृत्रं परिधिं नदीनाम् । देवोऽनयत्सविता सुपाणिस्तस्य वयं प्रसवे याम उर्वीः ॥
The rivers speak; Indra, the wielder of the thunder-bolt, dug our channels when he slew Ahi the blocker-up of rivers; the divine and well-handed Savitā has led us (on our path), and obedient tohis commands we flow (as) ample (streams).
english translation
प्र॒वाच्यं॑ शश्व॒धा वी॒र्यं१॒॑ तदिन्द्र॑स्य॒ कर्म॒ यदहिं॑ विवृ॒श्चत् । वि वज्रे॑ण परि॒षदो॑ जघा॒नाय॒न्नापोऽय॑नमि॒च्छमा॑नाः ॥ प्रवाच्यं शश्वधा वीर्यं तदिन्द्रस्य कर्म यदहिं विवृश्चत् । वि वज्रेण परिषदो जघानायन्नापोऽयनमिच्छमानाः ॥
Viśvāmitra speaks: Ever is that heroic exploit of Indra to be celebrated when he cut Ahi to pieces, and with his thunderbolt destroyed the surrounding (obstructors of the rain), whence the waters proceed in the direction they desire.

ए॒तद्वचो॑ जरित॒र्मापि॑ मृष्ठा॒ आ यत्ते॒ घोषा॒नुत्त॑रा यु॒गानि॑ । उ॒क्थेषु॑ कारो॒ प्रति॑ नो जुषस्व॒ मा नो॒ नि क॑: पुरुष॒त्रा नम॑स्ते ॥ एतद्वचो जरितर्मापि मृष्ठा आ यत्ते घोषानुत्तरा युगानि । उक्थेषु कारो प्रति नो जुषस्व मा नो नि कः पुरुषत्रा नमस्ते ॥
The rivers speak: Praiser of Indra, forget not this speech, nor the worlds that (you have addressed to us) for future ages (to reverence); celebrator (of holy rites), be favourable to us in solemn prayers; treat us not after the (arrogant fashion) of men; salutation be to you!

ओ षु स्व॑सारः का॒रवे॑ शृणोत य॒यौ वो॑ दू॒रादन॑सा॒ रथे॑न । नि षू न॑मध्वं॒ भव॑ता सुपा॒रा अ॑धोअ॒क्षाः सि॑न्धवः स्रो॒त्याभि॑: ॥ ओ षु स्वसारः कारवे शृणोत ययौ वो दूरादनसा रथेन । नि षू नमध्वं भवता सुपारा अधोअक्षाः सिन्धवः स्रोत्याभिः ॥
Viśvāmitra speaks: Listen, sister (streams), kindly to him who praises you; who has come from afar with a waggon and chariot; bow down lowly; become easily fordable; remain, rivers, lower than the axle (of the wheel) with your currents.

आ ते॑ कारो शृणवामा॒ वचां॑सि य॒याथ॑ दू॒रादन॑सा॒ रथे॑न । नि ते॑ नंसै पीप्या॒नेव॒ योषा॒ मर्या॑येव क॒न्या॑ शश्व॒चै ते॑ ॥ आ ते कारो शृणवामा वचांसि ययाथ दूरादनसा रथेन । नि ते नंसै पीप्यानेव योषा मर्यायेव कन्या शश्वचै ते ॥
The rivers speak: Hymner, we hear your words, that you have come from afar with a wagon and chariot; we bow down before you; like a woman nursing (her child), like a maiden bending to embrace a man, (so will we do) for you.
