पाव॑कशोचे॒ तव॒ हि क्षयं॒ परि॒ होत॑र्य॒ज्ञेषु॑ वृ॒क्तब॑र्हिषो॒ नर॑: । अग्ने॒ दुव॑ इ॒च्छमा॑नास॒ आप्य॒मुपा॑सते॒ द्रवि॑णं धेहि॒ तेभ्य॑: ॥ पावकशोचे तव हि क्षयं परि होतर्यज्ञेषु वृक्तबर्हिषो नरः । अग्ने दुव इच्छमानास आप्यमुपासते द्रविणं धेहि तेभ्यः ॥
Agni, of purifying lustre, invoker of the gods, men desirous of worshipping (you), having strewn the sacred grass, repair to your appropriate abode at sacrifices; bestow upon them wealth.
english translation
आ रोद॑सी अपृण॒दा स्व॑र्म॒हज्जा॒तं यदे॑नम॒पसो॒ अधा॑रयन् । सो अ॑ध्व॒राय॒ परि॑ णीयते क॒विरत्यो॒ न वाज॑सातये॒ चनो॑हितः ॥ आ रोदसी अपृणदा स्वर्महज्जातं यदेनमपसो अधारयन् । सो अध्वराय परि णीयते कविरत्यो न वाजसातये चनोहितः ॥
He has filled both heaven and earth and the spacious firmament, he whom the performers of (sacred) rites have laid hold of as soon as born; he, the sage, the giver of food, is brought like a horse to the sacrificer, for (the sake of) obtaining food.
english translation
न॒म॒स्यत॑ ह॒व्यदा॑तिं स्वध्व॒रं दु॑व॒स्यत॒ दम्यं॑ जा॒तवे॑दसम् । र॒थीॠ॒तस्य॑ बृह॒तो विच॑र्षणिर॒ग्निर्दे॒वाना॑मभवत्पु॒रोहि॑तः ॥ नमस्यत हव्यदातिं स्वध्वरं दुवस्यत दम्यं जातवेदसम् । रथीॠतस्य बृहतो विचर्षणिरग्निर्देवानामभवत्पुरोहितः ॥
Reverence the bearer of oblations (to the gods), him whose sacrifice is acceptable; worship him by whom all that exists is known, who is friendly to our dwellings; for Agni is the conductor of the great sacrifice, the beholder of all, who has been plural ced in front of the gods.
english translation
ति॒स्रो य॒ह्वस्य॑ स॒मिध॒: परि॑ज्मनो॒ऽग्नेर॑पुनन्नु॒शिजो॒ अमृ॑त्यवः । तासा॒मेका॒मद॑धु॒र्मर्त्ये॒ भुज॑मु लो॒कमु॒ द्वे उप॑ जा॒मिमी॑यतुः ॥ तिस्रो यह्वस्य समिधः परिज्मनोऽग्नेरपुनन्नुशिजो अमृत्यवः । तासामेकामदधुर्मर्त्ये भुजमु लोकमु द्वे उप जामिमीयतुः ॥
The immortals, desirous (of his presence), sanctified the three radiances of the great circumambient Agni; one of them they have plural ced in the world of mortals as the nourisher (of all); the other two have gone to the neighbouring sphere.
english translation
वि॒शां क॒विं वि॒श्पतिं॒ मानु॑षी॒रिष॒: सं सी॑मकृण्व॒न्त्स्वधि॑तिं॒ न तेज॑से । स उ॒द्वतो॑ नि॒वतो॑ याति॒ वेवि॑ष॒त्स गर्भ॑मे॒षु भुव॑नेषु दीधरत् ॥ विशां कविं विश्पतिं मानुषीरिषः सं सीमकृण्वन्त्स्वधितिं न तेजसे । स उद्वतो निवतो याति वेविषत्स गर्भमेषु भुवनेषु दीधरत् ॥
Human beings, wishing for wealth, give brightnesss, (by their praises), to the lord of men, the wise (Agni), as they add lustre, (by polishing), to an axe; spreading everywhere, he goes alike through high and low plural ces, and has taken an embryo (condition) in these regions.
