अर॑ण्या॒न्यर॑ण्यान्य॒सौ या प्रेव॒ नश्य॑सि । क॒था ग्रामं॒ न पृ॑च्छसि॒ न त्वा॒ भीरि॑व विन्दती३ँ ॥ अरण्यान्यरण्यान्यसौ या प्रेव नश्यसि । कथा ग्रामं न पृच्छसि न त्वा भीरिव विन्दती३ँ ॥
The forests of the forests are destroyed by the lover. Why don’t you ask the village, you don’t find you in fear. The forests and the forests are the ones who are destroyed. You don’t ask the village, you don’t find you as fearfull.
english translation
वृ॒षा॒र॒वाय॒ वद॑ते॒ यदु॒पाव॑ति चिच्चि॒कः । आ॒घा॒टिभि॑रिव धा॒वय॑न्नरण्या॒निर्म॑हीयते ॥ वृषारवाय वदते यदुपावति चिच्चिकः । आघाटिभिरिव धावयन्नरण्यानिर्महीयते ॥
When the ciccika replies to the crying vṛṣārava, Araṇyāni is exalted, resonant, as with cymbals.
english translation
उ॒त गाव॑ इवादन्त्यु॒त वेश्मे॑व दृश्यते । उ॒तो अ॑रण्या॒निः सा॒यं श॑क॒टीरि॑व सर्जति ॥ उत गाव इवादन्त्युत वेश्मेव दृश्यते । उतो अरण्यानिः सायं शकटीरिव सर्जति ॥
It is as if cows are grazing, and it looks like a dwelling, and Aranyāni at even tide, indeed, dismissed the carts.
english translation
गाम॒ङ्गैष आ ह्व॑यति॒ दार्व॒ङ्गैषो अपा॑वधीत् । वस॑न्नरण्या॒न्यां सा॒यमक्रु॑क्ष॒दिति॑ मन्यते ॥ गामङ्गैष आ ह्वयति दार्वङ्गैषो अपावधीत् । वसन्नरण्यान्यां सायमक्रुक्षदिति मन्यते ॥
This man calls his cow, another cuts down the timber; tarrying in the forest even tide, one thinks thereis a cry.
english translation
न वा अ॑रण्या॒निर्ह॑न्त्य॒न्यश्चेन्नाभि॒गच्छ॑ति । स्वा॒दोः फल॑स्य ज॒ग्ध्वाय॑ यथा॒कामं॒ नि प॑द्यते ॥ न वा अरण्यानिर्हन्त्यन्यश्चेन्नाभिगच्छति । स्वादोः फलस्य जग्ध्वाय यथाकामं नि पद्यते ॥
But Araṇyāni injures no one unless some other assail him; feeding upon the sweet fruit, he penetrates at will.
