ई॒जा॒नमिद्द्यौर्गू॒र्ताव॑सुरीजा॒नं भूमि॑र॒भि प्र॑भू॒षणि॑ । ई॒जा॒नं दे॒वाव॒श्विना॑व॒भि सु॒म्नैर॑वर्धताम् ॥ ईजानमिद्द्यौर्गूर्तावसुरीजानं भूमिरभि प्रभूषणि । ईजानं देवावश्विनावभि सुम्नैरवर्धताम् ॥

The Heaven liberal of treasure (prospers) the sacrificer, the Earth (prospers) the sacrificer because ofthe ornament, the divine Aśvins prospered the sacrificer with blessings.

english translation

ता वां॑ मित्रावरुणा धार॒यत्क्षि॑ती सुषु॒म्नेषि॑त॒त्वता॑ यजामसि । यु॒वोः क्रा॒णाय॑ स॒ख्यैर॒भि ष्या॑म र॒क्षस॑: ॥ ता वां मित्रावरुणा धारयत्क्षिती सुषुम्नेषितत्वता यजामसि । युवोः क्राणाय सख्यैरभि ष्याम रक्षसः ॥

sanskrit

Mitra and Varuṇa, who sustain the earth, we worship you, the givers of felicity, for the sake ofattaining our desires; may we, through your favour for the performer (of the sacrifice), overcome the rākṣasas.

english translation

tA vAM॑ mitrAvaruNA dhAra॒yatkSi॑tI suSu॒mneSi॑ta॒tvatA॑ yajAmasi | yu॒voH krA॒NAya॑ sa॒khyaira॒bhi SyA॑ma ra॒kSasa॑: || tA vAM mitrAvaruNA dhArayatkSitI suSumneSitatvatA yajAmasi | yuvoH krANAya sakhyairabhi SyAma rakSasaH ||

अधा॑ चि॒न्नु यद्दिधि॑षामहे वाम॒भि प्रि॒यं रेक्ण॒: पत्य॑मानाः । द॒द्वाँ वा॒ यत्पुष्य॑ति॒ रेक्ण॒: सम्वा॑र॒न्नकि॑रस्य म॒घानि॑ ॥ अधा चिन्नु यद्दिधिषामहे वामभि प्रियं रेक्णः पत्यमानाः । दद्वाँ वा यत्पुष्यति रेक्णः सम्वारन्नकिरस्य मघानि ॥

May we, when we present to you (oblations), quickly alight upon desirable wealth, and the genitive rousman who fosters his wealth, may his riches not depart from him.

english translation

adhA॑ ci॒nnu yaddidhi॑SAmahe vAma॒bhi pri॒yaM rekNa॒: patya॑mAnAH | da॒dvA~ vA॒ yatpuSya॑ti॒ rekNa॒: samvA॑ra॒nnaki॑rasya ma॒ghAni॑ || adhA cinnu yaddidhiSAmahe vAmabhi priyaM rekNaH patyamAnAH | dadvA~ vA yatpuSyati rekNaH samvArannakirasya maghAni ||

अ॒साव॒न्यो अ॑सुर सूयत॒ द्यौस्त्वं विश्वे॑षां वरुणासि॒ राजा॑ । मू॒र्धा रथ॑स्य चाक॒न्नैताव॒तैन॑सान्तक॒ध्रुक् ॥ असावन्यो असुर सूयत द्यौस्त्वं विश्वेषां वरुणासि राजा । मूर्धा रथस्य चाकन्नैतावतैनसान्तकध्रुक् ॥

(Mitra), scatterer of darkness, the Heaven gave birth to you the other; you, Varuṇa, are sovereignover all. The head of (your) chariot desired (this sacrifice); opposing the destroyer, (the rite) is not (vitiated) by the smallest defect

a॒sAva॒nyo a॑sura sUyata॒ dyaustvaM vizve॑SAM varuNAsi॒ rAjA॑ | mU॒rdhA ratha॑sya cAka॒nnaitAva॒taina॑sAntaka॒dhruk || asAvanyo asura sUyata dyaustvaM vizveSAM varuNAsi rAjA | mUrdhA rathasya cAkannaitAvatainasAntakadhruk ||

अ॒स्मिन्त्स्वे॒३॒॑तच्छक॑पूत॒ एनो॑ हि॒ते मि॒त्रे निग॑तान्हन्ति वी॒रान् । अ॒वोर्वा॒ यद्धात्त॒नूष्वव॑: प्रि॒यासु॑ य॒ज्ञिया॒स्वर्वा॑ ॥ अस्मिन्त्स्वेतच्छकपूत एनो हिते मित्रे निगतान्हन्ति वीरान् । अवोर्वा यद्धात्तनूष्ववः प्रियासु यज्ञियास्वर्वा ॥

This iniquity (found) in this Śakapūta, when Mitra is propitious, destroys opposing heroes, when thei.e., Mitra or Varuṇa; avaḥ = food; when the approaching Mitra (or Varuṇa) gives protection to the sacrificial ritesand bodies of the worshipper who delights him with oblations.
