उदी॑रय पि॒तरा॑ जा॒र आ भग॒मिय॑क्षति हर्य॒तो हृ॒त्त इ॑ष्यति । विव॑क्ति॒ वह्नि॑: स्वप॒स्यते॑ म॒खस्त॑वि॒ष्यते॒ असु॑रो॒ वेप॑ते म॒ती ॥ उदीरय पितरा जार आ भगमियक्षति हर्यतो हृत्त इष्यति । विवक्ति वह्निः स्वपस्यते मखस्तविष्यते असुरो वेपते मती ॥

sanskrit

Wake up the parents, as the Sun his splendour; (the worshipper) desires to offer worship to (thedeities) who are plural ased by it; with all his heart he wishes (to do so); he desires to repeat (your praise); thebearer (of the oblation) is anxious to effect the good work; the sacrifice longs for augmentation, the prudent(sacrificer) trembles in his thoughts.

english translation

udI॑raya pi॒tarA॑ jA॒ra A bhaga॒miya॑kSati harya॒to hR॒tta i॑Syati | viva॑kti॒ vahni॑: svapa॒syate॑ ma॒khasta॑vi॒Syate॒ asu॑ro॒ vepa॑te ma॒tI || udIraya pitarA jAra A bhagamiyakSati haryato hRtta iSyati | vivakti vahniH svapasyate makhastaviSyate asuro vepate matI ||

यस्ते॑ अग्ने सुम॒तिं मर्तो॒ अक्ष॒त्सह॑सः सूनो॒ अति॒ स प्र शृ॑ण्वे । इषं॒ दधा॑नो॒ वह॑मानो॒ अश्वै॒रा स द्यु॒माँ अम॑वान्भूषति॒ द्यून् ॥ यस्ते अग्ने सुमतिं मर्तो अक्षत्सहसः सूनो अति स प्र शृण्वे । इषं दधानो वहमानो अश्वैरा स द्युमाँ अमवान्भूषति द्यून् ॥

sanskrit

Agni, son of strength, the mortal who obtains your favour is widely celebrated; possessing abundantfood, and being conveyed by horses, illustrious and vigorous he graces the days of his existence.

english translation

yaste॑ agne suma॒tiM marto॒ akSa॒tsaha॑saH sUno॒ ati॒ sa pra zR॑Nve | iSaM॒ dadhA॑no॒ vaha॑mAno॒ azvai॒rA sa dyu॒mA~ ama॑vAnbhUSati॒ dyUn || yaste agne sumatiM marto akSatsahasaH sUno ati sa pra zRNve | iSaM dadhAno vahamAno azvairA sa dyumA~ amavAnbhUSati dyUn ||

यद॑ग्न ए॒षा समि॑ति॒र्भवा॑ति दे॒वी दे॒वेषु॑ यज॒ता य॑जत्र । रत्ना॑ च॒ यद्वि॒भजा॑सि स्वधावो भा॒गं नो॒ अत्र॒ वसु॑मन्तं वीतात् ॥ यदग्न एषा समितिर्भवाति देवी देवेषु यजता यजत्र । रत्ना च यद्विभजासि स्वधावो भागं नो अत्र वसुमन्तं वीतात् ॥

When, adorable Agni, this united praise is resplendent among the adorable gods, and when you,bearer of the oblatio, apportion the precious (treasures), then allot to us a valuable share. bring to us the heaven and earth, the daughters of the divine (Prajāpati), let none of the gods be absent, and do you yourself be present.

english translation

yada॑gna e॒SA sami॑ti॒rbhavA॑ti de॒vI de॒veSu॑ yaja॒tA ya॑jatra | ratnA॑ ca॒ yadvi॒bhajA॑si svadhAvo bhA॒gaM no॒ atra॒ vasu॑mantaM vItAt || yadagna eSA samitirbhavAti devI deveSu yajatA yajatra | ratnA ca yadvibhajAsi svadhAvo bhAgaM no atra vasumantaM vItAt ||

श्रु॒धी नो॑ अग्ने॒ सद॑ने स॒धस्थे॑ यु॒क्ष्वा रथ॑म॒मृत॑स्य द्रवि॒त्नुम् । आ नो॑ वह॒ रोद॑सी दे॒वपु॑त्रे॒ माकि॑र्दे॒वाना॒मप॑ भूरि॒ह स्या॑: ॥ श्रुधी नो अग्ने सदने सधस्थे युक्ष्वा रथममृतस्य द्रवित्नुम् । आ नो वह रोदसी देवपुत्रे माकिर्देवानामप भूरिह स्याः ॥

Hear us, O fire, in the house of Sadhastha, fighting the chariot of nectar. O son of the demigods, please carry us to the heavenly planets. O fire, please hear us from you, who are in the house of Sadha, and who are fighting in the chariot of nectar. O son of the demigods, please carry us to the heavenly planets.

zru॒dhI no॑ agne॒ sada॑ne sa॒dhasthe॑ yu॒kSvA ratha॑ma॒mRta॑sya dravi॒tnum | A no॑ vaha॒ roda॑sI de॒vapu॑tre॒ mAki॑rde॒vAnA॒mapa॑ bhUri॒ha syA॑: || zrudhI no agne sadane sadhasthe yukSvA rathamamRtasya dravitnum | A no vaha rodasI devaputre mAkirdevAnAmapa bhUriha syAH ||
