आ वि॒द्युन्म॑द्भिर्मरुतः स्व॒र्कै रथे॑भिर्यात ऋष्टि॒मद्भि॒रश्व॑पर्णैः । आ वर्षि॑ष्ठया न इ॒षा वयो॒ न प॑प्तता सुमायाः ॥ आ विद्युन्मद्भिर्मरुतः स्वर्कै रथेभिर्यात ऋष्टिमद्भिरश्वपर्णैः । आ वर्षिष्ठया न इषा वयो न पप्तता सुमायाः ॥
Come, Maruts, with your brilliant light-moving, well-weaponed, steed-harnessed chariots; doers of good deeds, descend like birds, (and bring us) abundant food.
english translation
ते॑ऽरु॒णेभि॒र्वर॒मा पि॒शङ्गै॑: शु॒भे कं या॑न्ति रथ॒तूर्भि॒रश्वै॑: । रु॒क्मो न चि॒त्रः स्वधि॑तीवान्प॒व्या रथ॑स्य जङ्घनन्त॒ भूम॑ ॥ तेऽरुणेभिर्वरमा पिशङ्गैः शुभे कं यान्ति रथतूर्भिरश्वैः । रुक्मो न चित्रः स्वधितीवान्पव्या रथस्य जङ्घनन्त भूम ॥
To what glorifier (of the gods) do they repair with their ruddy, tawny, car-bearing horses for his advantage? bright as burnished (gold), and armed with the thunderbolt, they furrow the earth with their chariot-wheels.
english translation
श्रि॒ये कं वो॒ अधि॑ त॒नूषु॒ वाशी॑र्मे॒धा वना॒ न कृ॑णवन्त ऊ॒र्ध्वा । यु॒ष्मभ्यं॒ कं म॑रुतः सुजातास्तुविद्यु॒म्नासो॑ धनयन्ते॒ अद्रि॑म् ॥ श्रिये कं वो अधि तनूषु वाशीर्मेधा वना न कृणवन्त ऊर्ध्वा । युष्मभ्यं कं मरुतः सुजातास्तुविद्युम्नासो धनयन्ते अद्रिम् ॥
Maruts, the threatening (weapons) are upon your person ns, (able to win) dominion; (to you) they praise lofty sacrifices, like (tall) trees; well-born Maruts, for you do wealthy worshippers enrich the stone (that grinds the Soma).
english translation
अहा॑नि॒ गृध्रा॒: पर्या व॒ आगु॑रि॒मां धियं॑ वार्का॒र्यां च॑ दे॒वीम् । ब्रह्म॑ कृ॒ण्वन्तो॒ गोत॑मासो अ॒र्कैरू॒र्ध्वं नु॑नुद्र उत्स॒धिं पिब॑ध्यै ॥ अहानि गृध्राः पर्या व आगुरिमां धियं वार्कार्यां च देवीम् । ब्रह्म कृण्वन्तो गोतमासो अर्कैरूर्ध्वं नुनुद्र उत्सधिं पिबध्यै ॥
Fortunate days have befallen you, (sons of Gotama), when thirsty, and have given lustre to the rite for which water was essential; the sons of Gotama, (offering) oblations with sacred hymns, have raised aloft the well (provided) for their dwelling.
english translation
ए॒तत्त्यन्न योज॑नमचेति स॒स्वर्ह॒ यन्म॑रुतो॒ गोत॑मो वः । पश्य॒न्हिर॑ण्यचक्रा॒नयो॑दंष्ट्रान्वि॒धाव॑तो व॒राहू॑न् ॥ एतत्त्यन्न योजनमचेति सस्वर्ह यन्मरुतो गोतमो वः । पश्यन्हिरण्यचक्रानयोदंष्ट्रान्विधावतो वराहून् ॥
This hymn is known to be the same as that which Gotama recited Maruts, in your (praise) when he beheld you seated in your chariots with golden wheels, armed with weapons, hurrying hither and thither, and destroying your mightiest foes.
