प्रत्व॑क्षस॒: प्रत॑वसो विर॒प्शिनोऽना॑नता॒ अवि॑थुरा ऋजी॒षिण॑: । जुष्ट॑तमासो॒ नृत॑मासो अ॒ञ्जिभि॒र्व्या॑नज्रे॒ के चि॑दु॒स्रा इ॑व॒ स्तृभि॑: ॥ प्रत्वक्षसः प्रतवसो विरप्शिनोऽनानता अविथुरा ऋजीषिणः । जुष्टतमासो नृतमासो अञ्जिभिर्व्यानज्रे के चिदुस्रा इव स्तृभिः ॥
Annihilators (of adversaries) endowed with great strength, loud-shouting, unbending inseparable partakers of the evening oblation, constantly worshipped, and leaders (of the clouds), (the Maruts), by their person nal decorations,a re conspicuous (in the sky) like certain rays of the sun.

उ॒प॒ह्व॒रेषु॒ यदचि॑ध्वं य॒यिं वय॑ इव मरुत॒: केन॑ चित्प॒था । श्चोत॑न्ति॒ कोशा॒ उप॑ वो॒ रथे॒ष्वा घृ॒तमु॑क्षता॒ मधु॑वर्ण॒मर्च॑ते ॥ उपह्वरेषु यदचिध्वं ययिं वय इव मरुतः केन चित्पथा । श्चोतन्ति कोशा उप वो रथेष्वा घृतमुक्षता मधुवर्णमर्चते ॥
When, Maruts, flying like birds along a certain path (of the sky), you collect the moving passing (clouds) in the nearest portions (of the firmament), then, coming into collision with your cars, they pour forth (the waters); therefore, do you shower upon your worshipper the honey-coloured rain.

प्रैषा॒मज्मे॑षु विथु॒रेव॑ रेजते॒ भूमि॒र्यामे॑षु॒ यद्ध॑ यु॒ञ्जते॑ शु॒भे । ते क्री॒ळयो॒ धुन॑यो॒ भ्राज॑दृष्टयः स्व॒यं म॑हि॒त्वं प॑नयन्त॒ धूत॑यः ॥ प्रैषामज्मेषु विथुरेव रेजते भूमिर्यामेषु यद्ध युञ्जते शुभे । ते क्रीळयो धुनयो भ्राजदृष्टयः स्वयं महित्वं पनयन्त धूतयः ॥
When they assemble (the clouds) for the good work, earth trembles at their impetuous movements, like a wife (whose husband is away); sportive, capricious, armed with bright weapons, and agitating (the solid rocks) they manifest their inherent might.
english translation
स हि स्व॒सृत्पृष॑दश्वो॒ युवा॑ ग॒णो॒३॒॑ऽया ई॑शा॒नस्तवि॑षीभि॒रावृ॑तः । असि॑ स॒त्य ऋ॑ण॒यावाने॑द्यो॒ऽस्या धि॒यः प्रा॑वि॒ताथा॒ वृषा॑ ग॒णः ॥ स हि स्वसृत्पृषदश्वो युवा गणोऽया ईशानस्तविषीभिरावृतः । असि सत्य ऋणयावानेद्योऽस्या धियः प्राविताथा वृषा गणः ॥
The troop of Maruts is self-moving deer-borne, ever young, lords of this (earth), and invested with vigour; you, who are sincere liberators from debt, irreproachable, and shedders of rain, are the protectors of this our rite.
english translation
पि॒तुः प्र॒त्नस्य॒ जन्म॑ना वदामसि॒ सोम॑स्य जि॒ह्वा प्र जि॑गाति॒ चक्ष॑सा । यदी॒मिन्द्रं॒ शम्यृक्वा॑ण॒ आश॒तादिन्नामा॑नि य॒ज्ञिया॑नि दधिरे ॥ पितुः प्रत्नस्य जन्मना वदामसि सोमस्य जिह्वा प्र जिगाति चक्षसा । यदीमिन्द्रं शम्यृक्वाण आशतादिन्नामानि यज्ञियानि दधिरे ॥
We declare by our birth from our ancient sire, that the tongue (of praise) accompanies the manifesting (invocation of the Maruts) at the libations of the Soma; for, inasmuch as they stood by encouraging Indra in the conflict, they have acquired names that are to be recited at sacrifices.
