प्र म॑न्महे शवसा॒नाय॑ शू॒षमा॑ङ्गू॒षं गिर्व॑णसे अङ्गिर॒स्वत् । सु॒वृ॒क्तिभि॑: स्तुव॒त ऋ॑ग्मि॒यायार्चा॑मा॒र्कं नरे॒ विश्रु॑ताय ॥ प्र मन्महे शवसानाय शूषमाङ्गूषं गिर्वणसे अङ्गिरस्वत् । सुवृक्तिभिः स्तुवत ऋग्मियायार्चामार्कं नरे विश्रुताय ॥
We mediate like Aṅgiras, an acceptable adress to that powerful and praise-deserving Indra, who is to be adored by his worshippers (with prayers) of efficacy, to bring him to the ceremony; let us repeat a prayer to the celebrated leader of all.

Do you, priests, offer to the vast and most powerful, Indra, earnest veneration, a chant fit to be sung aloud; for through him our forefathers, the Aṅgirasas, worshipping him, and knowing the footmark, recovered (the stolen) cattle.

pra vo॑ ma॒he mahi॒ namo॑ bharadhvamAGgU॒SyaM॑ zavasA॒nAya॒ sAma॑ । yenA॑ na॒: pUrve॑ pi॒tara॑: pada॒jJA arca॑nto॒ aGgi॑raso॒ gA avi॑ndan ॥ pra vo mahe mahi namo bharadhvamAGgUSyaM zavasAnAya sAma । yenA naH pUrve pitaraH padajJA arcanto aGgiraso gA avindan ॥

When the search was set on foot by Indra and the Aṅgirasas, Suramā secured food for her young; then Bṛhaspati slew the devourer and rescued the kine, and the gods, with the cattle, proclaimed their joy aloud.

Powerful Indra, who are to be gratified with a laudatory and well-accented hymn by the seven priests, whether engaged for nine months, or for ten; and, desirous of (safe) protection, you have terrified by your voice the divisible fructifying cloud.

sa su॒STubhA॒ sa stu॒bhA sa॒pta viprai॑: sva॒reNAdriM॑ sva॒ryo॒3॒॑ nava॑gvaiH । sa॒ra॒Nyubhi॑: phali॒gami॑ndra zakra va॒laM rave॑Na darayo॒ daza॑gvaiH ॥ sa suSTubhA sa stubhA sapta vipraiH svareNAdriM svaryo navagvaiH । saraNyubhiH phaligamindra zakra valaM raveNa darayo dazagvaiH ॥

Destroyer of foes, praised by the Aṅgirasas, you have scattered the darkness with the dawn, and with the rays of the sun; you have made straight the elevations of the earth; you have strengthened the foundations of the ethereal region.
