यद्ध॒ स्या त॑ इन्द्र श्रु॒ष्टिरस्ति॒ यया॑ ब॒भूथ॑ जरि॒तृभ्य॑ ऊ॒ती । मा न॒: कामं॑ म॒हय॑न्त॒मा ध॒ग्विश्वा॑ ते अश्यां॒ पर्याप॑ आ॒योः ॥ यद्ध स्या त इन्द्र श्रुष्टिरस्ति यया बभूथ जरितृभ्य ऊती । मा नः कामं महयन्तमा धग्विश्वा ते अश्यां पर्याप आयोः ॥

sanskrit

Inasmuch, Indra, as the praise by which you are (induced to bestow) protection on your adorers is heard (by all), therefore disappoint not the desire (that would raise us) to greatness; may I obtain, through your (favour), all things that are obtainable by man.

english translation

yaddha॒ syA ta॑ indra zru॒STirasti॒ yayA॑ ba॒bhUtha॑ jari॒tRbhya॑ U॒tI | mA na॒: kAmaM॑ ma॒haya॑nta॒mA dha॒gvizvA॑ te azyAM॒ paryApa॑ A॒yoH || yaddha syA ta indra zruSTirasti yayA babhUtha jaritRbhya UtI | mA naH kAmaM mahayantamA dhagvizvA te azyAM paryApa AyoH ||

न घा॒ राजेन्द्र॒ आ द॑भन्नो॒ या नु स्वसा॑रा कृ॒णव॑न्त॒ योनौ॑ । आप॑श्चिदस्मै सु॒तुका॑ अवेष॒न्गम॑न्न॒ इन्द्र॑: स॒ख्या वय॑श्च ॥ न घा राजेन्द्र आ दभन्नो या नु स्वसारा कृणवन्त योनौ । आपश्चिदस्मै सुतुका अवेषन्गमन्न इन्द्रः सख्या वयश्च ॥

Let not the royal Indra frustrate those our actions, which the sisters, (Day and Night), are directing to their object. May these invigorating offerings propitiate hi, so that he may bestow upon us friendly (regard), and (abundant) food.

english translation

na ghA॒ rAjendra॒ A da॑bhanno॒ yA nu svasA॑rA kR॒Nava॑nta॒ yonau॑ | Apa॑zcidasmai su॒tukA॑ aveSa॒ngama॑nna॒ indra॑: sa॒khyA vaya॑zca || na ghA rAjendra A dabhanno yA nu svasArA kRNavanta yonau | Apazcidasmai sutukA aveSangamanna indraH sakhyA vayazca ||

जेता॒ नृभि॒रिन्द्र॑: पृ॒त्सु शूर॒: श्रोता॒ हवं॒ नाध॑मानस्य का॒रोः । प्रभ॑र्ता॒ रथं॑ दा॒शुष॑ उपा॒क उद्य॑न्ता॒ गिरो॒ यदि॑ च॒ त्मना॒ भूत् ॥ जेता नृभिरिन्द्रः पृत्सु शूरः श्रोता हवं नाधमानस्य कारोः । प्रभर्ता रथं दाशुष उपाक उद्यन्ता गिरो यदि च त्मना भूत् ॥

Indra, the hero, the victor in battles, along with the leaders (of his hosts, the Maruts), will hear the invocation of his supplicating worshipper, and when disposed to accept his praises, will, of his own accord, drive his chariot close to the donor (of the oblation).

english translation

jetA॒ nRbhi॒rindra॑: pR॒tsu zUra॒: zrotA॒ havaM॒ nAdha॑mAnasya kA॒roH | prabha॑rtA॒ rathaM॑ dA॒zuSa॑ upA॒ka udya॑ntA॒ giro॒ yadi॑ ca॒ tmanA॒ bhUt || jetA nRbhirindraH pRtsu zUraH zrotA havaM nAdhamAnasya kAroH | prabhartA rathaM dAzuSa upAka udyantA giro yadi ca tmanA bhUt ||

ए॒वा नृभि॒रिन्द्र॑: सुश्रव॒स्या प्र॑खा॒दः पृ॒क्षो अ॒भि मि॒त्रिणो॑ भूत् । स॒म॒र्य इ॒षः स्त॑वते॒ विवा॑चि सत्राक॒रो यज॑मानस्य॒ शंस॑: ॥ एवा नृभिरिन्द्रः सुश्रवस्या प्रखादः पृक्षो अभि मित्रिणो भूत् । समर्य इषः स्तवते विवाचि सत्राकरो यजमानस्य शंसः ॥

Verily, Indra through desire of (sacrificial) food, is the devourer (of that which is presented) by (his) worshippers, and overcomes (the adversaries) of his friend; in the many-voiced assembly (of men), Indra, the faithful (performer of his promise), commending (the piety) of his worshipper, approves of the (offered) food.

english translation

e॒vA nRbhi॒rindra॑: suzrava॒syA pra॑khA॒daH pR॒kSo a॒bhi mi॒triNo॑ bhUt | sa॒ma॒rya i॒SaH sta॑vate॒ vivA॑ci satrAka॒ro yaja॑mAnasya॒ zaMsa॑: || evA nRbhirindraH suzravasyA prakhAdaH pRkSo abhi mitriNo bhUt | samarya iSaH stavate vivAci satrAkaro yajamAnasya zaMsaH ||

त्वया॑ व॒यं म॑घवन्निन्द्र॒ शत्रू॑न॒भि ष्या॑म मह॒तो मन्य॑मानान् । त्वं त्रा॒ता त्वमु॑ नो वृ॒धे भू॑र्वि॒द्यामे॒षं वृ॒जनं॑ जी॒रदा॑नुम् ॥ त्वया वयं मघवन्निन्द्र शत्रूनभि ष्याम महतो मन्यमानान् । त्वं त्राता त्वमु नो वृधे भूर्विद्यामेषं वृजनं जीरदानुम् ॥

By you, opulent Indra, may we overcome our mighty and formidable enemies; you are our protector; may you be propitious to our prosperity, that we may thence obtain food, strength and long life.

english translation

tvayA॑ va॒yaM ma॑ghavannindra॒ zatrU॑na॒bhi SyA॑ma maha॒to manya॑mAnAn | tvaM trA॒tA tvamu॑ no vR॒dhe bhU॑rvi॒dyAme॒SaM vR॒janaM॑ jI॒radA॑num || tvayA vayaM maghavannindra zatrUnabhi SyAma mahato manyamAnAn | tvaM trAtA tvamu no vRdhe bhUrvidyAmeSaM vRjanaM jIradAnum ||
