त्वं राजे॑न्द्र॒ ये च॑ दे॒वा रक्षा॒ नॄन्पा॒ह्य॑सुर॒ त्वम॒स्मान् । त्वं सत्प॑तिर्म॒घवा॑ न॒स्तरु॑त्र॒स्त्वं स॒त्यो वस॑वानः सहो॒दाः ॥ त्वं राजेन्द्र ये च देवा रक्षा नॄन्पाह्यसुर त्वमस्मान् । त्वं सत्पतिर्मघवा नस्तरुत्रस्त्वं सत्यो वसवानः सहोदाः ॥

sanskrit

You, Indra, are king; they who are gods (are subject) to you; therefore, scatterer (of foes), do you protect and cherish us men; you are the protector of the good, the possessor of wealth, the extricator of us (from sin); you are true, the invester (of all with your lustre) the giver of strength.

english translation

tvaM rAje॑ndra॒ ye ca॑ de॒vA rakSA॒ nRRnpA॒hya॑sura॒ tvama॒smAn | tvaM satpa॑tirma॒ghavA॑ na॒staru॑tra॒stvaM sa॒tyo vasa॑vAnaH saho॒dAH || tvaM rAjendra ye ca devA rakSA nRRnpAhyasura tvamasmAn | tvaM satpatirmaghavA nastarutrastvaM satyo vasavAnaH sahodAH ||

दनो॒ विश॑ इन्द्र मृ॒ध्रवा॑चः स॒प्त यत्पुर॒: शर्म॒ शार॑दी॒र्दर्त् । ऋ॒णोर॒पो अ॑नव॒द्यार्णा॒ यूने॑ वृ॒त्रं पु॑रु॒कुत्सा॑य रन्धीः ॥ दनो विश इन्द्र मृध्रवाचः सप्त यत्पुरः शर्म शारदीर्दर्त् । ऋणोरपो अनवद्यार्णा यूने वृत्रं पुरुकुत्साय रन्धीः ॥

sanskrit

You have humbled the people, suing for pardon when you have destroyed their seven new cities; you the irrproachable have dispersed the flowing waters; you have destroyed Vṛtra for the sake of the youthful Purukutsa.

english translation

अजा॒ वृत॑ इन्द्र॒ शूर॑पत्नी॒र्द्यां च॒ येभि॑: पुरुहूत नू॒नम् । रक्षो॑ अ॒ग्निम॒शुषं॒ तूर्व॑याणं सिं॒हो न दमे॒ अपां॑सि॒ वस्तो॑: ॥ अजा वृत इन्द्र शूरपत्नीर्द्यां च येभिः पुरुहूत नूनम् । रक्षो अग्निमशुषं तूर्वयाणं सिंहो न दमे अपांसि वस्तोः ॥

sanskrit

Go the cities inhabited by the rākṣasas, and thence to heaven (attended), receiver of many sacrifices by those who (attend you). Defend, like a lion, the untamed, quick-moving Agni, that he may abide in his dwelling, fulfilling his functions.

english translation

शेष॒न्नु त इ॑न्द्र॒ सस्मि॒न्योनौ॒ प्रश॑स्तये॒ पवी॑रवस्य म॒ह्ना । सृ॒जदर्णां॒स्यव॒ यद्यु॒धा गास्तिष्ठ॒द्धरी॑ धृष॒ता मृ॑ष्ट॒ वाजा॑न् ॥ शेषन्नु त इन्द्र सस्मिन्योनौ प्रशस्तये पवीरवस्य मह्ना । सृजदर्णांस्यव यद्युधा गास्तिष्ठद्धरी धृषता मृष्ट वाजान् ॥

Let (your foes, Indra), humbled by the might of your thunderbolt rest in their own station, for your glory; when you move, (armed) with your weapons, you send down the waters; arresting your horses, increase, by your power, (the abundance of) food.

zeSa॒nnu ta i॑ndra॒ sasmi॒nyonau॒ praza॑staye॒ pavI॑ravasya ma॒hnA | sR॒jadarNAM॒syava॒ yadyu॒dhA gAstiSTha॒ddharI॑ dhRSa॒tA mR॑STa॒ vAjA॑n || zeSannu ta indra sasminyonau prazastaye pavIravasya mahnA | sRjadarNAMsyava yadyudhA gAstiSThaddharI dhRSatA mRSTa vAjAn ||

वह॒ कुत्स॑मिन्द्र॒ यस्मि॑ञ्चा॒कन्त्स्यू॑म॒न्यू ऋ॒ज्रा वात॒स्याश्वा॑ । प्र सूर॑श्च॒क्रं वृ॑हताद॒भीके॒ऽभि स्पृधो॑ यासिष॒द्वज्र॑बाहुः ॥ वह कुत्समिन्द्र यस्मिञ्चाकन्त्स्यूमन्यू ऋज्रा वातस्याश्वा । प्र सूरश्चक्रं वृहतादभीकेऽभि स्पृधो यासिषद्वज्रबाहुः ॥

Bear, Indra, with your obedient horses, as swift as the wind, (the sage) Kutsa, to that ceremony (to which) you desire (to convey him); let the sun bring near the wheel of his chariot, and let the thunder-armed advance against his opponents.
