भवेदाचमनं चैव जर्जरग्रहणं तथा । उत्थाय मण्डलात्तूर्णं दक्षिणं पादमुद्धरेत् ॥७६॥
One should perform the ablution (ācamana) and take hold of the Jarjara. Rising swiftly from the circle (maṇḍala), the right foot should be lifted first.
With the same (right foot), he should perform the piercing movement (vedha), followed by a throwing motion with the left foot. Then, once again, he should lift the right foot positioned to the side.
Then, he should perform the piercing movement (vedha) with the left foot and the throwing motion with the right foot. In this manner, he should complete the circumambulation properly, following the prescribed procedure.
Having called the servant holding the water-pot, he should perform the purification ritual. The sipping of water (ācāman) should be done by him in the proper manner.
