सन्निपातसमं ग्राह्यो जर्जरो विघ्नजर्जरः । प्रदक्षिणाद्यो विज्ञेयो जर्जरग्रहणान्तकः ॥८१॥
The eclipse should be considered equal to the conjunction. The one with the holes is the one that represents obstacles. The one with the clockwise movement is known as the destroyer of the eclipse.

sannipAtasamaM grAhyo jarjaro vighnajarjaraH । pradakSiNAdyo vijJeyo jarjaragrahaNAntakaH ॥81॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतृतीयः परिवर्तस्तु विज्ञेयो वै द्रुते लये । गृहीत्वा जर्जरं त्वष्टौ कला जप्यं प्रयोजयेत् ॥ ८२॥
The third turn should be understood as the dissolution of melting. After taking the eight parts of the jarjara, one should proceed with the recitation.

tRtIyaH parivartastu vijJeyo vai drute laye । gRhItvA jarjaraM tvaSTau kalA japyaM prayojayet ॥ 82॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवामवेधं ततः कुर्याद्विक्षेपं दक्षिणस्य च । ततः पञ्चपदीं चैव गच्छेत्तु कुतपोन्मुखः ॥ ८३॥
Then, he should perform the left-sided piercing and the right-sided throwing, and afterwards, he should proceed in the five-footed manner, facing the musical instruments.

vAmavedhaM tataH kuryAdvikSepaM dakSiNasya ca । tataH paJcapadIM caiva gacchettu kutaponmukhaH ॥ 83॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवामवेधस्तु तत्रापि विक्षेपो दक्षिणस्य तु । जर्जरग्रहणाद्योऽयं कुतपाभिमुखान्तकः ॥ ८४॥
The left-sided piercing is followed by the right-sided distraction. This one, who is about to be seized by the jarjara, is facing the fire of the musical instruments.
