दूतीदर्शितमार्गस्तु प्रविशेद्रङ्गमण्डलम् । सूचया चाप्यभिनयं कुर्यादर्थसमाश्रयम् ॥ ४१॥

The lover, accompanied by the female messenger who shows the way, should enter the stage. He should enact his role following the Sūcā (a prescribed style or path of movement), expressing the meaning appropriate to the context.

पादयोरनुगौ हस्तौ नित्यं कार्यौ प्रयोक्तृभिः । उत्क्षिप्य हस्तं पातेन पादयोश्च विपर्ययात् ॥ ४४॥

The hands should always follow the movements of the feet, Raising the hand as the foot is lifted, and lowering the hand as the foot is placed down, in opposite coordination.

In the case of concealed (secret) love, understand well the gait once again: The lover walks cautiously, with the attendants dismissed, accompanied only by the female messenger as guide.
