दूतीदर्शितमार्गस्तु प्रविशेद्रङ्गमण्डलम् । सूचया चाप्यभिनयं कुर्यादर्थसमाश्रयम् ॥ ४१॥
The lover, accompanied by the female messenger who shows the way, should enter the stage. He should enact his role following the Sūcā (a prescribed style or path of movement), expressing the meaning appropriate to the context.

dUtIdarzitamArgastu pravizedraGgamaNDalam । sUcayA cApyabhinayaM kuryAdarthasamAzrayam ॥ 41॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptहृद्यैर्गन्धैस्तथा वस्त्रैरलङ्कारैश्च भूषितः । नानापुष्पसुगन्धाभिर्मालाभिः समलंकृतः ॥ ४२॥
Adorned with pleasing perfumes, garments, and ornaments, Decorated with garlands of various fragrant flowers.

hRdyairgandhaistathA vastrairalaGkAraizca bhUSitaH । nAnApuSpasugandhAbhirmAlAbhiH samalaMkRtaH ॥ 42॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगच्छेत् सललितैः पादैरतिक्रान्तस्थितैस्तथा । तथा सौष्ठवसंयुक्तैर्लयतालवशानुगैः ॥ ४३॥
He should walk with graceful feet, stepping beyond the measure, With limbs united in natural poise, following the rhythm and tempo.

gacchet salalitaiH pAdairatikrAntasthitaistathA । tathA sauSThavasaMyuktairlayatAlavazAnugaiH ॥ 43॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपादयोरनुगौ हस्तौ नित्यं कार्यौ प्रयोक्तृभिः । उत्क्षिप्य हस्तं पातेन पादयोश्च विपर्ययात् ॥ ४४॥
The hands should always follow the movements of the feet, Raising the hand as the foot is lifted, and lowering the hand as the foot is placed down, in opposite coordination.

pAdayoranugau hastau nityaM kAryau prayoktRbhiH । utkSipya hastaM pAtena pAdayozca viparyayAt ॥ 44॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रच्छन्नकामिते चैव गतिं भूयो निबोधत । विसर्जितजनः स्रस्तस्तथा दूतीसहायवान् ॥ ४५॥
In the case of concealed (secret) love, understand well the gait once again: The lover walks cautiously, with the attendants dismissed, accompanied only by the female messenger as guide.

pracchannakAmite caiva gatiM bhUyo nibodhata । visarjitajanaH srastastathA dUtIsahAyavAn ॥ 45॥
