विधुन्वानौ तु तौ वीरौ धनुर ई भारसाधने आच्छायदेताम अन्यॊन्यं तितक्षन्तौ रणेषुभिः ॥ ४-५३-५४ ॥
'At the sight of this carnage, the Kuru host was seized with terror. And then, grasping their mighty bows, capable of bearing great strain, the combatants began to veil one another in clouds of arrows, each striving to weaken the other.' ॥ 4-53-54 ॥
