[उत्तर] आस्थाय विपुलं वीर रथं सारथिना मया कतमं यास्यसे ऽनीकम उक्तॊ यास्याम्य अहं तवया ॥ ४-४०-१ ॥

'Uttara said: "O mighty hero, now that I am the charioteer of this great chariot, which part of the enemy’s host wilt thou penetrate? Give thy command, and I shall drive thee there."' ॥ 4-40-1 ॥

[uttara] AsthAya vipulaM vIra rathaM sArathinA mayA katamaM yAsyase 'nIkama uktò yAsyAmya ahaM tavayA ॥ 4-40-1 ॥
